Pakistan are in a strong position to reach the final of the ODI Tri Series in Pakistan 2026 after winning their first two matches. With only three league games remaining, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and England are fighting for a place in the final, scheduled for October 31.

The tournament follows a double round-robin format, meaning each team plays the other two teams twice. The top two teams in the points table will advance to the final.

Pakistan need just one more win to secure qualification, while Sri Lanka and England have more work to do.

Having said this, in this article, let's take a look at the all possible qualification scenarios for the ongoing ODI Tri Series in Pakistan 2026.

Before that, let’s look at the updated points table for the ODI Tri Series in Pakistan 2026.

(ODI Tri Series in Pakistan 2026 Points Table - Last Updated on October 25, 2026)

  • Pakistan lead the table with four points after winning both their matches. They defeated Sri Lanka by 37 runs and England by 87 runs, giving them a strong net run rate (NRR) of +1.240.
  • Sri Lanka sit in second place with two points with one win and one defeat. Their NRR stands at -0.348, so they will need better results to strengthen their position for the final.
  • England are at the bottom without a point after losing their first two games with an NRR of -0.892.

Qualification Scenarios For Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka

Pakistan

Pakistan need one victory from their remaining two matches to reach six points and guarantee a place in the final. Their unbeaten record and positive NRR put them in a comfortable position.

However, losing both remaining games could make their qualification uncertain if the other results create a three-way tie. In that situation, NRR could decide which teams advance.

It is important to note that Pakistan will next face England in the 4th ODI of the ongoing series on October 25, 2026.

Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka will qualify with two more wins, finishing the league stage with six points. If they win one and lose one, they could finish with four points and depend on other results and NRR. Two defeats would leave them in danger of elimination.

Sri Lanka will next face Pakistan in the 5th ODI on October 27.

England

England must win both remaining matches to keep their hopes alive. They will also need favourable results from the other two teams, including Pakistan beating Sri Lanka, to improve their chances for the place in the final.
