The franchise leagues have evolved each day as the T20 excitement has even reached American soil. Since the introduction of MLC to the US audience, the tournament has quickly grown into a major event and has recently added another feather to its crown.
In the IPL, KKR call the historic Eden Gardens, but in the MLC, they had yet to have a place called their home. Ahead of the 2026 season, that changed, as they found a new base and are set to play some of their matches at Fairplex in Pomona, California.
Knight Riders finally find their new home in California
After the T20 format was popularized in world cricket, franchise cricket showcased a different side of that as the IPL led the way. But the franchise T20 league touched a new high when the Major League was introduced to the American fans. In the US, where cricket is not even a prime sport, the T20 tournament carved its place.
After IPL franchise owners expanded into MLC, the Knight Riders Group introduced the Los Angeles Knight Riders. After the tournament started in 2023, the teams didn’t have respective home venues as the matches were place as two or three venues.

But now, the Los Angeles Knight Riders have finally secured a home venue of their own in MLC. In the MLC 2026, they are set to play some of their home matches at Fairplex in Pomona, California. Throughout a press release, the Knight Riders Group shared the news with their fans worldwide.
Naming it as a Knight Riders Cricket Field, the Los Angeles Knight Riders will start their new journey in the upcoming season of the tournament. While the venue has previously hosted other events and festivities, it is now set to embrace cricket as the sport continues to grow in the region.

For the Knight Riders, Shah Rukh Khan has always been more than just a team member as he made his presence all over the world when ever Knights were in action. As the Los Angeles Knight Riders stepped into a brand-new chapter in MLC, Shah Rukh Khan shared his excitement over the special milestone.
“The USA is a great sporting market with passionate fans, and we hope this field becomes a place where people come together to celebrate the game and support the team. I'm really looking forward to this new chapter for the Knight Riders in Los Angeles,” he said.
Fairplex CEO rolls out the red carpet for the Knights
As the Los Angeles Olympics is coming up, cricket is returning to the prestigious sporting event after 128 years. As the venue will also host the matinee event, before that, the Knights will bring cricketing thrills to the venue. Ahead of this new chapter, the Fairplex CEO expressed excitement about welcoming the Los Angeles Knight Riders.
“As the home of the LA County Fair, one of the largest fairs in the country, we are excited to partner with Knight Riders to present cricket, one of the world's largest sports, on our campus. Fairplex continues to seek new experiences that are unique to Southern California, and the Knight Riders will create the field where community will come together and celebrate,” he said.
In the other franchise leagues across the globe, the Knights have already tasted glory, but MLC glory is still far from them. After three seasons, they are still hunting for their maiden title. The last season was a disaster for them as they finished at the bottom of the points table after facing eight defeats in 10 matches. With a new season on the horizon, the Knights will be aiming for a strong comeback.
