New Zealand probable playing XI Vs South Africa [Source: AFP]
A New Zealand vs South Africa T20I match is generally expected to be full of fireworks as the two teams possess plenty of hard-hitters, but the first game of the series on Sunday turned out to be a snoozfest as South Africa crawled past an easy target with 3.2 overs to spare.
On a wicket that assisted the seamers in the early going, the home side, New Zealand, crumbled under pressure as they got bundled out for a paltry 91 inside 15 overs. The target was supposed to be a cakewalk for the Proteas, but they made a mess of it, and eventually reached their goal by securing the win in 16.4 overs.
Ironically, the Kiwis fielded a relatively experienced playing XI unlike the Proteas, and were still humbled as the team lacked a cutting-edge to beat the inexperienced South African side. With the series on the line, here is how New Zealand could lineup for the key second T20I that takes place on Tuesday.
New Zealand probable playing XI Vs New Zealand- 2nd T20I
Openers and top order: Devon Conway, Tom Latham(w), Tim Robinson
New Zealand is not a team that panics and makes too many changes in the playing XI after a loss, and thus, expect the top three to remain the same as the experienced pair of Devon Conway, and Tom Latham will open the innings in the second T20I.
Conway has been out of touch, and he was dismissed cheaply in the first T20I, but expect the experienced opener to come good in the second game against an inexperienced Proteas bowling attack.
Alongside him, Tom Latham will be the second opener as the southpaw aims to cement his place in the T20I side. He, too, struggled in the first T2OI, but the management is likely to show trust in him for the upcoming fixture.
Tim Robinson is one of the most promising players in the New Zealand T20I setup, and the batter will play at number 3 for the Black Caps. Unlike Conway, or Latham, Robinson has the ability to take down any attack right from the word go, and the team will need his explosive batting to come good.

Middle order and all-rounders: Nick Kelly, Katene Clarke, James Neesham, Mitchell Santner(c)
Not the most experienced middle-order by any means, but the Kiwi lineup possesses destructive batters who can snatch the game away in the blink of an eye. In Katene Clarke and Nick Kelly, the Black Caps have two fine players in the middle-order, and they will hold the key if the team is to score big.
Two fine veterans will play the finisher’s role as Jimmy Neesham, and Mitch Santner will look to score heavy towards the end as both Santner and Neesham can be aggressive and have the ability to take down the Proteas attack.
Bowlers: Zakary Foulkes, Cole McConchie, Lockie Ferguson, Ben Sears
In a low-scoring 1st T20I, Kyle Jamieson was the difference maker as he conceded runs at 7.64 runs per over, and helped the Proteas cross the winning line. With Lockie Ferguson joining the Black Caps squad, he should replace Jamieson. The pacer has sheer pace that can trouble the inexperienced South African batters.
The other bowlers should remain the same from last game as Zak Foulkes, Cole McConchie, and Ben Sears will keep their place, with the Kiwis making only one change- Ferguson in place of Jamieson.
