The Vaibhav Sooryavanshi fever is at its peak in India, with every cricket fan wanting to have a glimpse of the 15-year-old prodigy. 

A couple of days earlier, he became the youngest ever to don an Indian shirt, and now he is representing them again in the IND vs ENG 3rd T20I at Trent Bridge on Tuesday evening.

Among the full crowd at Nottingham, former Indian captain MS Dhoni is also in the attendance to watch the generational talent on his 45th birthday.

'Introvert' MS Dhoni travels extra mile to watch Vaibhav Sooryavanshi

Retired from international sport, Dhoni is rarely seen in public nowadays. Although he was also present in the stands during the India vs England semifinal clash, the legendary keeper is rather introverted as a public figure.

Notably, both MS Dhoni and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi come from the same part of India. The 15-year-old is from Bihar’s Samastipur district, while the former India captain was born in Ranchi, which was then a part of Bihar.

Sooryavanshi may not have publicly spoken about the senior statesman, but he touched the feet of the legendary captain during the CSK vs RR clash in IPL 2025.

Initially, Dhoni was seen in the stands during the broadcast of the IND vs ENG 3rd T20I with a couple of his friends. 

However, as soon as the screengrabs of the wholesome started going viral on social media, the broadcasters posted an exclusive video of Thala entering the stadium. 

MS Dhoni's special bond with England

MS Dhoni and England have shared a long history, with the 45-year-old having played 60 international matches in the country. He led India to the Champions Trophy 2013 victory there, while he earned high praise when he called Ian Bell back after an infamous run-out at the very venue in 2011. 

Moreover, his last dance for the Men in Blue was in England, as he never played again for his national team after the 2019 World Cup. In that marquee event, the keeper batter scored 273 runs in 8 innings at an average of 45.50, including a sluggish 42* vs England at Edgbaston. 

Prince Yadav, Harshit Rana bowl strongly in Trent Bridge

Talking about the IND vs ENG 3rd T20I, India had won the toss and elected to bowl first in the do-or-die clash at Nottingham. Ravi Bishnoi has been dropped for Prince Yadav after the leggie led the game to slip in Manchester.

The visiting pacers, especially Prince and Harshit Rana, have bowled extremely well in the ongoing match. However, Phil Salt’s sublime knock of 70 has helped England to post 185/5 in 18 overs. 

The opening pair of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Abhishek Sharma will be key for the Men in Blue in the chase.
