On Friday, May 1, Germany scripted history as they shattered previous records set by England and India to slam the 3rd-highest total in T20Is. Notably, the Musaddiq Ahmed-led side scripted this milestone in the ongoing 1st T20I against Australia.

Notably, the two associate nations collided at the Bayer Uerdingen Cricket Ground in Krefeld, where Germany, batting first, etched their names in golden letters.

Germany Shatters the 300-Run Mark vs Austria

As mentioned above, Germany, batting first, posted 308/1 after 20 overs. Notably, it is the 3rd highest total in T20Is. Only Nepal and Zimbabwe have scored more runs in an innings in T20Is than Germany. Nonetheless, the European side now boasts the record for the highest T20I total by a European country.

Germany Ride On Ben Kohler-Cadmore and Musaddiq Ahmed Centuries

Talking about the first innings, the openers stitched a 238-run stand for the first wicket. Notably, it is the 2nd highest stand in T20Is for the first wicket.

Notably, skipper Musaddiq Ahmed slammed a century. He scored 122 (48), which featured 11 fours and 10 sixes. Ahmed’s knock was overshadowed by Ben Kohler-Cadmore, who was the side’s top-scorer with 133 (58). His knock had 17 fours and six sixes.

Overall, there were 20 sixes scored in the match and several records were shattered in the first innings of the 1st of three match T20I series.

Who Is Ben Kohler-Cadmore, Germany's New Superstar?

Ben Kohler-Cadmore is elder brother of Tom Kohler-Cadmore, who previously played for Rajasthan Royals in IPL. Notably, the Kohler brothers' mother is German, which is why Ben Kohler-Cadmore has been allowed to play for Germany.

On the other hand, his younger brother opted to play for England. Notably, Tom plays a lot of domestic cricket but is yet to feature for England in international cricket. 

Ben, on the other hand, it is his first century for Germany. Prior to this game, he had featured in just four matches, amassing 87 runs, averaging 21.87.
