KKR side has blown hot and cold throughout the IPL 2026, with most of their players underperforming. The team was expected to deliver the goods in the ongoing season, but now, they find themselves in hot water as the side needs to win their last league stage game to stay alive in the playoff race.

While some of the big names have crumbled under pressure, young gun Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been KKR’s best player. The elegant batter has played quite a few match-winning knocks in the IPL 2026, but unfortunately, the team will miss his services for the remainder of the IPL 2026.

In the latest development, KKR’s star player, Raghuvanshi, will miss the remaining IPL 2026 campaign after sustaining a concussion and a fracture to a finger on his left hand in the last game against the Mumbai Indians.

The unfortunate news was posted by the Kolkata Knight Riders on their social media handle, as the franchise has suffered a massive injury jolt ahead of the IPL playoffs. Raghuvanshi has been KKR's golden boy, and the team now needs to find a suitable replacement.

Raghuvanshi suffered nasty injury vs Mumbai Indians

In KKR’s last IPL 2026 match vs the Mumbai Indians, Raghuvanshi suffered a nasty injury, and it scared the entire nation. The injury took place in the 11th over of the MI innings, when Tilak Varma, lofted a ball in the air as both Raghuvanshi and Varun Chakaravarthy rushed to grab it.

Tejasvi Singh later replaced him behind the stumps for the rest of the IPL 2026 clash.

The collision left a lasting impact as the KKR player ended up having some neck pain, a bit of dizziness, and a bit of a headache within a couple of overs, and he failed to play any further part in the contest.

Why KKR will miss "golden boy" Raghuvanshi for remainder of IPL

KKR boasts some of the biggest Indian and overseas names in the team, but 13 league matches later, it is the young Indian batter, Raghuvanshi, who stands tall and has become the batting mainstay in an otherwise struggling lineup.

The talented batter has long been touted as KKR’s present and future, and after a couple of decent IPL campaigns, he finally had his breakout season in 2026.

He featured in 13 IPL matches this season, and had amassed 422 runs, with an average of 42, and a healthy strike rate of 146.53.

While the franchise possesses some quality Indian cricketers, none come closer in terms of sheer talent and the ability to perform under pressure as compared to Raghuvanshi. Time and again, the right-handed batter has rescued KKR from tricky situations, and if the side manages to reach the playoffs, they would miss his skillset.
