The Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise, the Orange Army, and Kavya Maran go hand in hand when it comes to fan interaction and grabbing attention on live television. Notably, the owner of SRH, Kavya, is a lively presence at almost every game of the team in every stadium.
However, in the SRH vs CSK clash in Indian Premier League 2026, Kavya Maran did something that she is not usually known for. The calm and smiling crowd charmer was seen making gestures to Chennai and Hyderabad supporters in the crowd as Hyderabad was closing in on victory against CSK.
How Did The SRH vs CSK Game Go?
On April 18, in the 27th match at Hyderabad's Uppal Stadium, Sunrisers Hyderabad were phenomenal with both the bat and the ball.
Coming into bat first, Hyderabad scored 194 on the board, courtesy of Abhishek Sharma's early start with a 22-ball 59 and Heinrich Klaasen's 39-ball 59 anchoring the team later in the game.
With these blitzes, SRH were confident before going on to defend the total, which actually worked, given the fact that CSK batters lost the battle midway.
After Chennai came in to bat, they racked up a solid 76 runs inside the powerplay but also lost three wickets, courtesy of Eshan Malinga and Nitish Kumar Reddy, who ran through CSK's top order.

Nevertheless, the game was going steadily, but from the 10th over, things took a serious turn as Chennai were restricted in their chase.
Even when CSK required 84 runs off 60 balls, the game seemed to be in the Yellow Camp's favour. However, the bowlers remained resilient under Ishan Kishan's captaincy to win the game by 10 runs.
Kavya Maran Shushes CSK Crowd In Virat Kohli Style
As the game was going in SRH's favour, Kavya was seen silencing the crowd in the stadium. As Hyderabad were closing in on the game, cameras panned to Kavya, who turned towards the Orange Army, clapped, and enthusiastically encouraged them to celebrate the win.
Meanwhile, Kavya Maran particularly pointed at Chennai Super Kings fans in the crowd to be quiet through a gesture, a Virat Kohli-like motion with fingers on her lips.
The video of Kavya went viral, with fans even calling her out for silencing a Tamil crowd, even though she herself is a Tamilian.

Kavya, the daughter of Kalanithi Maran, is the CEO and co-owner of Sunrisers Hyderabad and is also the director of Sun TV Network Limited.
While being the face of the franchise in the IPL, Maran's 2026 estimate of her personal net worth is around 400 to 500 crore.
Besides Hyderabad, Kavya Maran has also spearheaded the expansion of the brand into international leagues like SA20 and The Hundred, where she owns teams like Sunrisers Leeds and Sunrisers Eastern Cape.
SRH Climb Up The Ranks
Nevertheless, with this win, Sunrisers Hyderabad have climbed up the ladder to be stationed at the fourth position on the points table.
Out of six games, they have managed to win three, bagging six points, and will be eager to pile up more to safeguard their chances for the playoffs. They will next face the Delhi Capitals on April 21 at their home ground in Hyderabad.
