Playing as a stand-in captain for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Pat Cummins’ absence, Ishan Kishan has been doing exceptionally well with the bat in IPL 2026. No wonder SRH co-owner Kavya Maran was impressed with his consistency and acknowledged it on Monday during SRH’s IPL 2026 match against Rajasthan Royals (RR).
Coming at No. 3 after Abhishek Sharma’s golden duck, Ishan batted aggressively from the very beginning at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. He kept on doing wonders, smashing eight fours and six sixes in a superb knock before eventually falling to Sandeep Sharma in the nervous 90s.
Kavya Maran was there at the stands, and she did what she could to applaud the SRH captain in the best possible manner.
Kavya Maran Gives Standing Ovation For Ishan Kishan
For those who are unaware, giving someone flowers does not necessarily mean word-for-word. It actually defines when someone appreciates the other person to recognise the latter’s good qualities.
Kavya did exactly the same thing for Kishan, as she got to her feet and clapped when he returned to the pavilion after a well-made 44-ball 91.
While losing his wicket in the 90s, Ishan Kishan became the third player from SRH to fall just before the three-digit mark in the IPL, after David Warner and Jonny Bairstow.

SRH Finish With 216/6 Vs RR
Meanwhile, SRH, owned by Kavya Maran, closed on 216/6 in Hyderabad on Monday, with Nitish Kumar Reddy and Salil Arora coming up with some lusty blows during the death overs. Heinrich Klaasen did alright as well, making 40 off 28 balls to take SRH to a fighting total after an early Abhishek Sharma setback.
Still, it should not be a tough task for RR, who have Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi at the top, followed by in-form Dhruv Jurel. Captain Riyan Prag is still in search of his form with the bat, although he has been brilliant on the field when it comes to making crucial decisions as a captain.
