In an encouraging development for Team India, Ishan Kishan is likely to be fit for the final two T20Is of the ongoing series against New Zealand. Led by Shreyas Iyer, India have secured the series by winning the first three matches.

After remaining unbeaten across two T20Is in Christchurch, the tourists swatted aside New Zealand by six wickets in a high-scoring clash in Wellington. As the caravan shifts to Auckland for the fourth T20I, Ishan Kishan is reportedly looking ready to make his comeback to the playing XI after recovering from an injury.

Ishan Kishan likely to be fit for 4th and 5th T20Is vs New Zealand: Report

Notably, Ishan Kishan was ruled out of the second T20I between India and New Zealand after sustaining a low-grade right adductor strain in the opening encounter. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi replaced him at number three in Christchurch before being promoted to the opening slot for the subsequent affair in Wellington.

However, ahead of the fourth T20I, RevSportz journalist Subhayan Chakraborty has reported that Ishan Kishan is likely to be fully fit for the final two matches of the series. The fourth T20I will be played at the Eden Park in Auckland, with the Seddon Park in Hamilton hosting the final encounter of the series.

Ishan Kishan featured in the first T20I between India and New Zealand at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch. He managed a solitary run before being dismissed by Mitchell Santner.

He looked sublime in the preceding home assignment against West Indies, finishing the five-match series with 153 runs at an average of 38.25 and a strike rate of 191.25.

Who could make way for Ishan Kishan if he gets back into India's playing XI?

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi entered India's playing XI in the absence of Ishan Kishan, who was ruled out of the 2nd and 3rd T20Is due to injury. Sooryavanshi registered a single-digit score in the second T20I, but made the most of the conditions in Wellington in the subsequent clash, scoring 45 runs off just 19 balls.

However, if Ishan Kishan receives fitness clearance to participate in the remaining matches, India will likely revert to their previous top-order combination comprising him, Samson and Abhishek Sharma.

So, despite proving his mettle in Wellington, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi could make way for Ishan Kishan, with India likely to persist with their tried-and-tested combination.
