Ishan Kishan's girlfriend Aditi Hundia has reacted to the Indian opener's thrashing of Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Ishan Kishan won the Man of the Match award as India beat Pakistan by 61 runs to qualify for the Super 8 of the T20 World Cup 2026.
Losing the toss, India were sent in to bat first. Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma opened the innings for the Men in Blue. Abhishek Sharma, who was returning to the side after missing out vs Namibia, was out on a duck as Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha dismissed him in the 1st over.
Ishan Kishan counter attacked Pakistan
Although India lost Abhishek Sharma early, Ishan refused to buckle down under pressure. The southpaw took regular risks in the powerplay and kept the scoreboard ticking as Tilak Varma held fort at the other end.
Ishan attacked from the get go and smashed the 1st ball he played against Shaheen Afridi for a 77 metre six. His regular counter attack kept Pakistan at bay who had come with a plan to grip India's batters with spin.
As soon as the powerplay ended, Ishan went berserk and smashed Abrar Ahmed for 13 runs in the 7th over, consisting 3 consecutive fours. In the process, he also smashed his 50 off just 27 balls and the entire stadium erupted for a standing ovation.
In the next over, Ishan Kishan went all guns blazing after Shadab Khan, smashing him for 17 runs in an over. Just as Ishan was looking set for a 3-figure mark, Saim Ayub took his prized wicket as the Bihar Bomb seemed to be struggling with some cramps.

India dismantle Pakistan for another Super 8 qualification
As always, India seemed to get better of Pakistan in the T20 World Cup match at Colombo. Soon after Ishan Kishan got out, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma steadied the ship for the Men in Blue and ensured that the team stays in track for a solid finish.
While Tilak Varma scored 25 runs off 24 deliveries, captain Suryakumar Yadav scored 32 runs off 29 deliveries before eventually perishing to Usman Tariq in the 2nd last over. Shivam Dube played a blinder in the dying minutes to help India reach a total of 175 for 7 in 20 overs.
Pakistan seemed to be looking uphill from the inception of their innings. Sahibzada Farhan could contribute nothing and the world documented his duck in the 1st over as Hardik Pandya got him caught out to Rinku Singh at mid on.
Saim Ayub and Salman Ali Agha followed suit in the next over as Jasprit Bumrah showed why he's the boss with 2 wickets in his 1st over giving a massive blow to the Men in Green. Babar Azam was also dismissed in the powerplay as Axar Patel cleaned him up.
Having lost 4 wickets in the powerplay, Usman Khan fought back with a defiant knock of 44 runs off just 34 balls but no support from the other end meant only 1 thing, which was Pakistan's disastrous end to the hyped contest.
Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf were the next batters to follow Usman Khan to the dugout as the entire Pakistan team folded for 114 runs in 18 overs, handing India a massive win.
India and Pakistan- Same Continent, Different Destinations
With this win, India have qualified for the Super 8 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, winning all 3 of their opening games. Pakistan, on the other hand, have got themselves in big trouble. They are currently at number 3 in the Points Table behind India and the USA in their group.
They will next play against Namibia and will win against them in all likeliness. However, if they lose to Namibia, they will get knocked out of the T20 World Cup 2026.
Although India and Pakistan belong to the same continent and have been claiming themselves of ruling world cricket off the field recently, the on-field performances show a completely different picture.
India has been utterly dominant against Pakistan in multi-national tournaments and ICC events. This was India's 8th win against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup history whereas, the Men in Green have won only once in the competition back in 2021.
In 2025, India beat Pakistan thrice in the Asia Cup 2025, including the final. For all the chest thumping and drama by Pakistan team, administrators, and fans before the India clash, this loss should serve as a reminder that narrative war counts for nothing in sports.
India have beaten Pakistan in every game they have played since the 2023 Asia Cup. Pakistan, on the other hand, were knocked out of the group stages in the 2023 World Cup, the 2024 T20 World Cup, the 2025 Champions Trophy and they look down the same road in this year's T20 World Cup.
If Mohsin Naqvi is so good at stealing, he should ideally steal India's cricketing structure that has reaped rewards for the country in the last couple of decades with the latest example of Ishan Kishan who was left out of the national team for lack of commitment and he marked a sensational comeback with domestic cricket heroics for his state.
Unless Pakistan is willing to the hard yards, the difference in quality will continue to exist and the way associate teams have upped their stature, the day isn't far away when Pakistan might become an associate too.
