Former Pakistan cricketer Imad Wasim has recently been in the news due to his personal life rather than his cricket career. His former wife Sannia Ashfaq has made serious allegations against him. She claims that Imad left her while she was pregnant with their third child.

Over the past few days, Sannia has posted several emotional messages on Instagram. In these posts, she accused Imad of being unfaithful during their marriage. The situation became more controversial after Imad, aged 37, publicly confirmed his second marriage.

It is important to mention that Imad Wasim married Nyla Raja only a few months after announcing his separation from Sannia.

"With the grace of Allah and the guidance of my parents, I have now married Nyla. This step was taken thoughtfully and with clear intention to build a life rooted in peace, stability, and mutual respect. Nyla has brought calm, dignity, and strength into my life, and I stand by this decision with complete conviction,” the cricketer wrote.

As a result, Sannia expressed deep pain and anger, saying that he moved on quickly while she was still coping with pregnancy and divorce stress.

Furthermore, Sannia made even stronger accusations. She called Imad Wasim a “murderer” and claimed that he forced her to undergo an abortion in 2023. These claims have not been legally confirmed.

Even so, they have intensified the conflict between the former couple. Meanwhile, Imad has not provided a detailed public response to these particular allegations.

Sannia Ashfaq appeals Mohsin Naqvi to take action

In a video shared on social media, Sannia Ashfaq also appealed to powerful figures in Pakistan. Notably, she asked Mohsin Naqvi, who leads the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), to step in and investigate the matter.

In addition, she urged Pakistan’s Prime Minister to review her case. She also requested Islamabad United, Imad’s franchise team, to remove him from their squad. According to her, he should accept responsibility for the suffering she and her children experienced.

Despite the controversy, Imad continues to play professional cricket. In the recent auction of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2026), Islamabad United signed him for 2.2 crore Pakistani rupees.

Notably, the UK-born cricketer has long been associated with this franchise and remains an important player in the league. At the same time, Sannia has strongly criticized the team for continuing to support him during the dispute.

Looking back at their relationship, Imad Wasim and Sannia Ashfaq married in 2019. Their marriage later ended, and they officially divorced in December 2025. Soon after their separation, photos of Imad with Nyla in London surfaced online in July 2025.

At that time, Sannia Ashfaq was reportedly pregnant with their third child. Therefore, the situation became even more painful and public.

On the other hand, the 37-year-old cricketer has shared his own perspective. In a written statement, he described the end of his first marriage as one of the hardest phases of his life.

Nevertheless, he said that the relationship gave him his greatest blessings, his children. He also expressed deep love for them and said that his bond with them would always remain strong.
