Pakistan Women’s batter Gull Feroza has been punished by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in the middle of the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England. The cricketer has been issued an official reprimand and handed one demerit point.
Feroza was found guilty of a Level 1 breach during Pakistan’s Group A match of the tournament against Australia Women earlier this week in Leeds.
Gull Feroza punished by ICC for Code of Conduct violation
Gull Feroza has violated Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to the “abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during an international match.”
As confirmed by the ICC on their official website on Thursday, June 25, Feroza has been issued an official reprimand as well as being handed one demerit point.

The incident occurred during the second over of the Pakistan Women innings against Australia in Leeds on June 23 earlier this week, when the opening batter threw her bat and gloves in an aggressive manner near the team dugout after her dismissal.
Since this was Gull Feroza’s first offence in her 24-month period, her behavior was added to her disciplinary record apart from receiving the demerit point.
The 27-year-old admitted to her offence and accepted the sanction imposed by match referee Michell Pereira. The charge was levelled by the two on-field umpires Sue Redfern and Vrinda Rathi, as well as from third umpire Jacquline Williams and fourth umpire Shathira Jakir Jesy.
Gull Feroza in comical mix-up with opening partner
Feroza’s ICC Code of Conduct breach was preceded by her comical mix-up with opening partner Muneeba Ali. During the second over of the Pakistan innings against Australia in their chase of 200 runs, both Ali and Feroza took off for a run after wicketkeeper Beth Mooney failed to collect a wide down the leg side from Kim Garth.
An agile Georgia Voll collected the ball instead, prompting both Pakistani openers to retreat and return to their ends. Both Voll and bowler Garth ended up catching Feroza well short of her crease in the end.
Pakistan eliminated from 2026 T20 World Cup
Earlier this month, Pakistan became one of the first teams to get eliminated from the semifinal race of the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
Under the leadership of Fatima Sana, the ‘Women in Green’ have suffered crushing defeats at the hands of India, South Africa, Bangladesh and Australia Women. With four defeats in four matches, they are placed fifth on the six-team Group 1 points table.
Moreover, several reports indicate that the Pakistan Women’s team is also battling an inner conflict inside the dressing room, especially between captain Sana and teammate Aliya Riaz.
