In the latest development, Pakistan speedster Haris Rauf has been punished by the ICC after the team’s memorable win in the 4th match of the tri-series tournament. The pacer breached Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct and was also fined 20% of his match fee.

Rauf was found to have breached the ICC’s Article 2.2, related to the Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which signifies showing conduct contrary to the rules designated by the governing council.

Rauf's on-field anger leads to punishment from ICC

The Haris Rauf incident occurred in the 46th over of the Pakistan innings against England, when the Pakistan player (Rauf) at the non-striker's end appealed for a wide before arguing with England’s Will Jacks.

The Pakistan pacer was given a warning by the on-field umpire, but Rauf raised his bat as he continued to argue with Jacks. Moreover, he also brushed aside the umpire, Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid, and this misconduct led to a heavy punishment.

One demerit point was also added to his record, and interestingly, this was his third such offence within a 24-month period.

Moreover, England players were also fined 15% of their match fee for a slow over rate offense in the same match. Both Rauf and Harry Brook have admitted to the charges, and as a result, no formal hearing was required.

Rauf has been under ICC's watch for quite some time now

As stated, the offence against England was Haris Rauf’s third such event in the last 24 months, and he has been under the ICC’s radar for quite some time now.

This is not the first time the Pakistan pacer has been fined for his on-field misconduct. A major event took place during the Asia Cup 2025 when Rauf faced disciplinary action from the ICC for bringing the game into dispute in the clash against India.

In the marquee clash, the Pakistan bowler was found guilty of breaching ICC Article 2.21 for a provocative on-field gesture during the India vs Pakistan match.

He received four demerit points, and the bowler was suspended by the ICC for two matches.
