“Don't Think Virat Kohli Can Get To 100 Centuries On This Tour”- Kyle Jamieson Goes Cheeky

India and New Zealand will soon be at loggerheads for the five-match ODI series, which would mark the return of star players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. RoKo, as they call them, are considered the linchpin of the Gill-led team for the 2027 World Cup.

Both Kohli and Sharma are in the twilight of their career, as they have already retired from T20Is and Tests. Still, whenever the duo play, they break a couple of records, especially Kohli.

Among the top records, Virat Kohli, who has 86 international centuries, is chasing Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 100 hundreds.

If he does so, it would be great for the sport and the showrunners. However, New Zealand's Kyle Jamieson has jokingly mocked the idea of Kohli reaching the top cliff.

Kyle Jamieson mocks Kohli's dream of 100 centuries

While speaking to Revzsports, Kyle Jamieson joked when asked whether Virat Kohli would reach the 100-hundred mark by the 2027 World Cup. The fast bowler stated that he would get there in the IND vs NZ ODIs for sure.

“Well, I don’t think he can get here on this tour, so that’s… don’t have to worry about too much," Kyle Jamieson said.

Furthermore, Jamieson praised Kohli for his skill set and fitness, stating that the modern-day great is a "world-class talent", and he could play for several years if he wants to.

“He could probably just go on and on. In terms of where his skill level is and where his physical body is at, you could probably keep playing for a number of years. When you get sort of world-class talent, right, they don’t ever sort of lose it," Jamieson added.

Lastly, Jamieson also added that whether Kohli plays for India or RCB, as long as he's playing, he will be at "the top of his game".

"As long as he’s putting on an Indian shirt or an RCB shirt or whoever’s shirt he’s putting on, I’m sure he’ll be right at the top of his game," the Kiwi concluded.

Kyle Jamieson a hard nut to crack even for Virat Kohli

Over the years, Kyle Jamieson has faced Team India in riveting contests, especially in the longest format. He made his ODI and Test debuts against the Men in Blue and performed well in both.

As India are among Jamieson's favourite sides to take on, he has taken 38 wickets across formats against them - which is the most for him against any international nation.

Notably, the lanky pacer has dismissed Virat Kohli five times in international cricket. Thus, it would be a brilliant battle as the two fierce competitors take each other on in the ODI series, starting on November 4.
