Arjun Tendulkar, son of the great Sachin Tendulkar, failed to make a cut into the line-up. It is worth noting that Arjun was also not included in Goa squad in their five-match pre-season tour of Oman a couple of months ago. However, several reports indicate that the fast bowler himself had opted out of that tour. Why was Arjun Tendulkar excluded from Goa squad?The Goa Cricket Association is yet to provide an official explanation for Arjun Tendulkar’s omission from the squad. After failing to receive playing opportunities in the Mumbai cricket team in Ranji Trophy, young Tendulkar shifted his domestic base to Goa in 2022. To date, he has played each of his 24 first-class matches for the Goa team, picking up 52 wickets in the process in 38 innings at an average of 38.03. He last played for them during the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season earlier this year in Porvorim. The cricketer scored 60 runs across both innings of the match, but managed to pick up just two wickets at an expense of more than 100 runs.As of now, it remains to be seen if Arjun Tendulkar can make his return to first-class cricket at some point later in the 2026-27 domestic season.As per the schedule, Goa will take on Baroda in their opening Elite Group A match of the 2026-27 Ranji Trophy season from October 11 onwards in Panaji.
