India chase historic records in Final
The final between India and New Zealand is expected to be a thrilling contest. India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, will aim to defend their title and create history in front of the home crowd.
If India wins the trophy, they will become the first team to defend a T20 World Cup title and also the first host nation to lift the trophy. It would also be their third T20 World Cup title, after the 2007 and 2024 victories.
However, the fact cannot be denied that New Zealand will be a tough opponent. The Black Caps have historically enjoyed success against India in T20 World Cup matches, winning previous encounters in 2007, 2016 and 2021.
Both teams reached the final with strong performances in the semi-finals. New Zealand dominated the South Africa with a nine-wicket victory, thanks to a sensational 33-ball century by Finn Allen, the fastest hundred in T20 World Cup history.
India, on the other hand, produced a thrilling performance against England, scoring a massive 253 runs before restricting their opponents just short of the target in a high-scoring contest.
