CSK’s woes in the IPL 2026 season hit a new low when they lost their latest fixture against SRH despite being in a winning position. Moreover, after the loss, a complaint letter by the Chennai management has been doing the rounds on social media.

Chennai Super Kings were cruising with a 76-run powerplay in the 195-run chase. However, out of nowhere, the momentum shifted, and wickets fell in clusters. This sudden change led to bizarre speculations on social media.

Did CSK accuse SRH of black magic?

After CSK’s 10-run loss at Hyderabad, a complaint letter in the name of CSK management has gone viral on social media. The letter, dated April 19, 2026, is presented as an “official notice” from Chennai management.

It alleges that during the SRH vs CSK IPL match, some spectators were involved in “black magic", “voodoo rituals", and occult practices.

These acts were supposedly targeting CSK players. It claims players experienced sudden dips in performance, poor decision-making and unusual dismissals.

The letter further urges the BCCI to investigate the incident, review CCTV footage and take strict action against those involved. It is signed under the name of CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan.

That being said, the alleged complaint letter is totally fake. There is no official confirmation from CSK or the BCCI that such an issue has been raised.

Also, the claims of black magic affecting performance are highly unrealistic and unprofessional for an official complaint. The tone and content do not match how franchises communicate formally.

This appears to be a satirical or troll post that gained traction due to CSK’s previous complaint that they filed against RCB’s DJ for mocking their ethnicity through an objectifying song.

When CSK filed a complaint against RCB

Previously, Chennai Super Kings did reportedly file a legitimate complaint to the BCCI after their match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

CSK objected to a stadium DJ playing a track referencing “dosa, idli, sambar, and chutney". The franchise felt it mocked South Indian stereotypes, and allegedly, the comments were also made targeting CSK players over the PA system.

Meanwhile, the IPL governing council is reportedly reviewing the complaint. However, while that complaint had some truth to it, the alleged letter about black magic is completely false. It's fabricated to mislead the fans and spread hate.

CSK, meanwhile, are in some serious trouble this IPL 2026 season. With 2 victories in 6 games, they are down to seventh spot in the points table with a negative net run rate.

Last year also, CSK struggled massively, finishing at the bottom of the table for the first time in IPL history. This year also, the Super Kings are showing signs of a major fallout.
