A recent viral video trending on social media indicates that the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup match between the two Asian titans scripted a similar narrative. In a 10-second video, a certain Pakistani bowler can be seen involved in a heated confrontation with the two Indian batters, with players even appearing to be shoving each other. 

Here, we take a closer look at the viral video and uncover the truth behind the widely circulated “fighting” claim. 

Truth behind India vs Pakistan viral ‘fighting’ video

A 10-second video circulating on social media indicates that Pakistan and Indian players had a heated exchange in the middle of their 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup clash in Birmingham. Their fight also seemingly prompted match umpires and other players to intervene in the middle.

While a fight in an India vs Pakistan game may not come as a complete surprise given the magnitude of this rivalry, their Group 1 encounter in England on Sunday, June 14 surprisingly went off without any incident for once. The viral video circulating on the internet appears to be a heavily AI-generated clip, with the players not resembling any individual involved in the actual match.

While the India vs Pakistan Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 match was devoid of any controversial or a heated exchange, the ‘Women in Blue’ players did refuse to interact with their Pakistani counterparts in wake of the rising geopolitical tensions between the two nations.

Even prior to the match, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur ignored Pakistani skipper Fatima Sana during the toss. The trend appears to have persisted since the Pahalgam terrorist attack and the resultant ‘Operation Sindoor’ from last year. 

Deepti Sharma snares world record, India decimate Pakistan Women

India Women decimated Pakistan by 64 runs to get off to a winning start at the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Batting first in Birmingham, the ‘Women in Blue’ fired 170-6 from 20 overs courtesy of a blistering 44-ball 68 from prolific opener Smriti Mandhana.

Richa Ghosh also smeared 34 from just 17 balls to turbo-charge the Indian innings at the death. 

In response, Pakistan folded up for just 106 in 17 overs despite Muneeba Ali scoring 41 at the top of the order. Deepti Sharma picked up five wickets in the innings at an expense of just 10 runs to record one of the best-bowling figures in T20 World Cup history. The legendary Indian spinner also became the world’s leading wicket-taker in Women’s T20I matches

India will now face Netherlands in match number 10 of the tournament on June 17 in Leeds.
