Two of the best T20I batters in the world based on ICC rankings, Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan, had an animated conversation during the first T20I between India and England, which took place at Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street.
Even though the match ended up with no result due to continuous rain at the venue, the Men in Blue had batted for the full 20 overs, posting 189/7.
More significantly, it was Abhishek Sharma who gave the lift to India after they lost Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan inside two overs. While Samson holed out to Tom Banton off Saqib Mahmood, a terrible mix-up between Kishan and Abhishek cost the newly named no. 1 T20I batter his wicket.
Abhishek Sharma Fumes At Ishan Kishan
The conversation between Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma, shortly after a desperate dive that could not save the former, went viral on social media. There, Kishan went for a quick single, while Abhishek kept on watching the ball.
In the end, Kishan was halfway down the track, and a good throw from England captain Harry Brook from the mid-on region left him fall for a two-ball duck despite a full-length dive.

Here, the conversation between Ishan and Abhishek when the third umpire was checking whether it was a run out or not.
Abhishek: "Tu pahuncha ki nahin pahuncha?
Ishan: Mujhe nahi pata.
Abhishek: Hain?
Ishan: Nahi pata.
Abhishek: Close?
Ishan: Close hai.
Abhishek: Ump? Close?
Abhishek: Kya kar raha hai yaar Ishan?
Ishan: Aage thi na. Meri call thi.
Abhishek: Par tu dekh toh sahi kaha khada hai woh.

Eventually, Abhishek fell for a 24-ball 59, which had four sixes and six fours. He is on a mission to break Hardik Pandya’s six-hitting feat, and should not take much of a time to climb up to the top of the world.
India To Meet England Again On July 4
After the first T20I ended in a no result, India and England will face each other once again on July 4. Manchester’s Old Trafford will host the match this time.
For India, the return of form in Shreyas Iyer’s bat was a blessing during the abandoned 1st T20I in Chester-le-Street. Iyer, who could only manage 13 runs in two innings during the recent India tour of Ireland, made 68 off 47 balls against England.
His knock was laced with six fours and one six, although it was not as smooth as he usually plays whenever he gets in form in the middle.
Among others, Shivam Dube played a brisk cameo, slamming 42 off 21 balls with the help of three sixes and two fours. Thanks to his quickfire cameo, India reached 189/7.
For England, Saqib Mahmood picked up three wickets for 33 runs off his four overs, while Sam Curran had 1/25 off his three overs.
