Bangladesh started their ODI series against Australia in a perfect way with an impressive victory in the opening match at Mirpur on Tuesday (June 9). The hosts secured an 86-run win under the DLS method to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
However, one of the most highlighted moments of the BAN vs AUS 1st ODI match was a heated exchange between fast bowler Nahid Rana and Australian captain Josh Inglis.
Bangladesh posted a challenging total of 284/8 in their 50 overs before producing a disciplined bowling display that left Australia struggling throughout the chase.
Nahid Rana played a crucial role with the ball, claiming four wickets and helping Bangladesh move one step closer to a historic series victory.
What Happened Between Nahid Rana and Josh Inglis?
The incident took place early in Australia’s run chase during the first ball of the 11th over. Nahid Rana delivered a sharp short-of-a-length ball outside the off stump that climbed awkwardly and forced Josh Inglis into an uncomfortable shot.
The Australian captain edged the delivery behind to wicketkeeper Litton Das and was dismissed for 19 runs from 25 balls.

Rana celebrated the breakthrough with great passion and appeared to give Inglis a send-off as the batter started walking back towards the pavilion.
The celebration did not go down well with the Australian skipper, who stopped, turned around, and exchanged words with the Bangladesh pacer.
As tensions rose, players from both sides quickly moved in to prevent the situation from escalating further. Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz stepped in and attempted to calm both players, while the umpires also intervened.

Alex Carey Breaks Silence On Nahid Rana and Josh Inglis Fight
Following the match, Australian wicketkeeper-batter Alex Carey shared his thoughts on the fight between Nahid Rana and Inglis.
He admitted that he had not spoken to his captain about the exact conversation that took place on the field and therefore could not comment on what was said.
However, Carey suggested that a certain level of aggression is natural in cricket.
"I think that's what we want in cricket, a bit of spice," said Carey, who prefaced his comments by conceding he had not yet spoken to Inglis and that he did not know what words were exchanged. "You don't want to take it over the edge, clearly, but I thought that's two players getting into the contest."
