India's disappointing run in the ongoing white-ball season has forced the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to delay its much-awaited review meeting. Initially, reports suggested that the meeting would take place after the ODI series against England.

However, the board has now decided to hold the review only after Team India returns from the ongoing Zimbabwe T20I series. This means VVS Laxman and his coaching staff might also be assessed alongside Gautam Gambhir and his men.

The decision to conduct a review meeting comes after India's poor performances on the tours of Ireland and England.

Led by Shreyas Iyer and under head coach Gautam Gambhir, the Indian team suffered a 2-0 series defeat against Ireland before enduring another difficult outing in England.

BCCI To Review England, Ireland and Zimbabwe Tours

According to the latest reports from the Times of India, the BCCI will now conduct a detailed review of Team India’s white-ball tours of Ireland, England and Zimbabwe during the first half of August.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed that the meeting is expected to take place in early August after the Zimbabwe tour concludes.

Speaking to The Times of India, Saikia said, "We will conduct a review of India’s tours of England, Ireland and Zimbabwe in the first part of August. It could be in the beginning of the month. Some of the contracts of the Team India support staff have expired. We will review them. In our review meeting, we will discuss everything, including what are the things that went wrong in England. The review meeting will be held after our team returns from Zimbabwe."

It is vital to note that apart from reviewing the team's performances, the BCCI is also expected to evaluate the Gautam Gambhir's support staff, whose contracts have expired.

So, this has now increased speculation over the future of VVS Laxman, who is currently with the Indian team in Zimbabwe.

BCCI To Review Contracts Of Ryan ten Doeschate and T Dilip

The BCCI is also expected to review the contracts of assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate and fielding coach T Dilip after the Indian team's Zimbabwe tour.

Both coaches completed their agreements during the recent white-ball season, and their future with the team will now depend on the review committee’s decision.

“Regarding the contractual extension of two members of the support staff, whose contracts have expired, the review committee will decide on their contract extension,” Saikia revealed.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed that the committee will discuss whether the two support staff members should continue in their roles with head coach Gautam Gambhir.

While no final decision has been made, there are reports suggesting that the board may consider changes to the coaching staff.

The upcoming review meeting will determine if both coaches remain with the national team or if the BCCI decides to appoint new members to the support staff with Gautam Gambhir.
