BCCI Breaks Silence On T Dilip, Ryan ten Doeschate's Team India Exit

On Tuesday, August 4, the BCCI confirmed the departure of assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate and fielding coach T Dilip from India's coaching set-up. The apex cricket board of India put an end to the reports via social media post.

The Mithun Manhas-led BCCI penned a note for the two senior coaches and expressed their gratitudes for taking Indian cricket to new heights.

BCCI Confirms Ryan ten Doeschate, T Dilip's Departure

"Thank you, Assistant Coach Ryan ten Doeschate and Fielding Coach T Dilip, for your invaluable contributions to #TeamIndia. Your dedication, professionalism and tireless efforts behind the scenes have played a big role in the team's journey and success. Wishing you both every success in the next chapter of your career," wrote BCCI on their Twitter post.

Why Did T Dilip And Ryan Ten Deoschate End Their Association With Team India?

Speaking to PTI, Devajit Saikia, revealed the details and stated that Ryan ten Doeschate and T Dilip were removed and didn’t resign from their positions. Saikia stated that the two coaches ran out of contract and the board didn’t renew their tenure.

"Assistant Ryan ten Doeschate's two-year contract with the Indian men's team ended on June 10. Fielding coach T Dilip, who was given a one-year extension, also had his contract end on June 8. They continued till the end of India's tour of the United Kingdom. However, the BCCI is not giving them any extension," Devajit Saikia said speaking to PTI.

"There is no question of accepting resignation as the contract has ended. We are currently in talks with two to three names and expect to finalise the details within a day or two. India will have a new fielding coach for the tour of Sri Lanka," he added.

Ryan Ten Doeschate Joins KKR For IPL 2027

Netherlands legend Ryan ten Doeschate has already decided on his next assignment. The former India fielding coach has joined hands with KKR to be in their coaching setup for IPL 2027.

Notably, ten Doeschate represented KKR from 2011-2015. The former right-handed batter also served as KKR fielding coach from 2022-2024 before being recommended by Gautam Gambhir for the India role.

Rohit Sharma Thanks T Dilip For His Services

While ten Doeschate is clear on his future, T Dilip is yet to decide on his next step. T Dilip joined the Indian set-up when Rahul Dravid was roped in as the head coach in 2021. Dilip rose to fame for his medal idea during the 2023 ODI World Cup. Dilip’s contract ran until 2025, but he was given a year-long extension, which ended on June 8. 

In the latest events, Rohit Sharma also thanked Dilip for his services. Rohit wrote, "You are a legend, Dilip garu. You created magic within the group and were a behind-the-scenes workhorse. Best wishes ahead." T Dilip is yet to announce his next assignment.
