Pakistan got humiliated by Bangladesh as they lost the second Test of the two-match series by 78 runs on day five in Sylhet. The hosts sealed a dominant 2-0 sweep, extending their remarkable rise in red-ball cricket with another statement performance against Pakistan.

The two-match Test series victory also marked Bangladesh’s fourth consecutive Test win against Pakistan, a streak achieved for the first time in their history. The achievement caught attention from across the cricketing world, including legendary Pakistan pacer Wasim Akram, who showered immense praise on Bangladesh.

Wasim Akram shows disappointment on Pakistan performance against Bangladesh

Pakistan were completely beaten by Bangladesh in both Test matches, losing in Dhaka and then again in Sylhet. The 2-0 series defeat highlighted Pakistan’s struggles in important moments despite having more experience.

Following the embarrassing series loss, former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram openly expressed his disappointment while still applauding Bangladesh for their superior performances during the two-match contest.

“Really disappointed to see Pakistan beaten for the second time by Bangladesh, but full praise and marks to the winners as they played complete cricket,” Wasim Akram wrote on X.

Pakistan’s poor run in Test cricket has now started hurting their World Test Championship campaign significantly, with the side currently sitting eighth in the standings and desperately needing victories. Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s memorable clean sweep pushed them up to fifth position, underlining their rapid rise.

Wasim Akram went on to further praise Bangladesh and its pitches during the two-match Test series against Pakistan, highlighting how the surfaces offered assistance to both batters and bowlers of both the sides in all five days of action.

“Bangladesh used to have low, slow and big turners but now they are preparing great Test pitches, helping their fast-rising pace bowlers who outpaced Pakistan,” Akram added.

The legendary pacer admired Bangladesh’s shift away from traditionally slow turners toward more balanced red-ball conditions. Both Test matches stretched into the fifth day, showcasing the quality and competitiveness of the pitches prepared throughout the series.

Bangladesh’s rise in Test cricket has become increasingly noticeable, with even Wasim Akram praising the quality of pitches produced during the Pakistan series. The balanced surfaces played a major role in helping Bangladesh dominate both matches.
