Former Bangladesh Cricket Board President Aminul Islam Bulbul was impeached by the National Sports Council. Days after his removal, the ex-BCB official shared a triggering ideology that might shape the Asian Cricket Council.

As per Bulbul, who is currently residing in Bangladesh, a major development is behind the curtains, with both India's BCCI and Pakistan's PCB being the supreme powers behind it.

Aminul Islam Bulbul Reveals Secret BCCI-PCB Dynamics

While the Asian Cricket Council was embroiled in a serious crisis because of the controversial Asia Cup 2025 trophy fiasco, Aminul Islam Bulbul's latest revelations have completely shattered the optics that India and Pakistan put in front of the public.

Notably, Aminul Islam Bulbul had a short 10-month tenure as the Bangladesh Cricket Board president, which ended abruptly on April 7, 2026.

Why Was Bulbul Removed As BCB President?

The dissolution was triggered by abuse of power and large-scale irregularities by Bulbul, which also included the rigging of elections. Upon dissolving Bulbul's committee, an 11-member ad hoc committee was set up, which is now led by ex-Bangladesh cricketer Tamim Iqbal.

While this remains a concern for the country dealing with its political as well as cricketing fiasco, the nation's absence from the T20 World Cup 2026 was also blamed as one of the outcomes of Aminul Islam Bulbul’s actions.

Notably, Bulbul also petitioned the International Cricket Council to intervene in his dissolution, but the requests fell on deaf ears.

Mohsin Naqvi Shook Hands With India To Kick Out Bulbul?

Aminul has now revealed that he was plotted against after applying for a major role at the Asian Cricket Council by both BCCI and PCB administrators.

Speaking in his recent interview with Prothom Alo, Bulbul revealed that things didn't work out even though he opted for an opportunity at the ACC.

"There was a big job opportunity at the ACC. But two major countries vetoed it. So that probably won’t happen now," Bulbul said.

The Veto That Removed Bulbul

The veto by two major powers, significantly India and Pakistan, is a potential build-up or mutual coordination between the two countries, given the fact that they are widely understood to dictate the council's direction.

This veto further institutionalises the perception that the ACC is not an independent body at all, but rather a place where major cricket bodies exercise structural control to help allies and sideline dissenting voices.

Bulbul Speaks Of His Future After Bangladesh Exit

While Aminul Islam revealed the potential coup between the two major countries, he also spoke of having a different path for his career after his removal from the board.

"I might join a research group for now. I want to work on higher consciousness and mindfulness in cricket. I’ve worked a lot over the years, now let’s see what Allah has planned. I believe in Rizq. I’ll do research, write books, and this chapter of my life will definitely be a big part of it," he said.

What Does Aminul’s Revelation Mean?

Nevertheless, the ex-Bangladesh official’s revelations have indicated that rivalry, although visible in public and on the field between India and Pakistan, has not disrupted their structural and formal unity since the Asia Cup 2025.

Although differences occured between BCCI and PCB, the nations have successfully maintained the professional boundaries in cricketing administration.

Currently, the President of the Asian Cricket Council is Mohsin Naqvi, the chair of the PCB, and he will hold his position until April 2027, when a leadership transition in the Asian cricket body is expected through elections.
