Delhi Capitals are leaving no stone unturned ahead of the IPL 2027. The franchise, which has yet to win its maiden IPL title, has signed Amit Mishra to its already prolific dressing room.

Under Axar Patel and head coach Hemang Badani, DC finished on sixth position in the IPL 2026. As a result, the franchise decided to cut ties with their former head coach after pooling him in ahead of IPL 2025.

Amit Mishra joins Sourav Ganguly-led coaching staff at DC

Amit Mishra played the majority of IPL career for the Delhi franchise, featuring in 10 seasons in two different stints. The former leg-spinner returns in DC colours, this time as a spin bowling coach.

The franchise announced on Wednesday after via its social media handles.

Mishra has joined the Sourav Ganguly-led coaching staff, which has Yuvraj Singh as the batting coach and Chaminda Vaas, the fast bowling coach.

Mishra played 103 IPL games for Delhi, picking 110 wickets at an economy rate of 7.37, which is the most for them. The next on the list is DC’s current captain, Axar Patel, with 78 scalps.

Moreover, the leggie was the first spinner in the history of the IPL to take a hat-trick. He has also the record most hat-tricks in the tournament.

DC trades in Rishabh Pant, Zeeshan Ansari for IPL 2027

Not just DC’s backroom staff is being rejigged; the franchise has been busy while taking the full advantage of the trade window. Delhi have been involved in both trades that have occurred ahead of the IPL 2027 mini-auctions.

Soon after the conclusion of last season, they let go of Kuldeep Yadav for Rishabh Pant. Meanwhile, they recently traded T. Natarajan to SRH for Zeeshan Ansari.

Although there were serious allegations that Delhi might replace Axar Patel with KL Rahul as captain, those reports are on the back burner for now.

Nevertheless, Delhi have played an IPL final just once in IPL 2020, and have qualified for the playoffs once since then.
