Australia's leading white-ball spinner Adam Zampa has decided to switch teams, bringing a major shift in Australian cricket.
The 34-year-old leg-spinner has been one of the biggest match-winners for Australia in white-ball formats, contributing in both of their ICC triumphs in this decade - the 2021 T20 World Cup and 2023 ODI World Cup.
Over the years, the spinner has played 239 international matches, scalping 198 ODI wickets and 153 T20Is wickets at rapid rates.
Adam Zampa end ties with New South Wales, signs up for Queensland
In a massive development, Adam Zampa has decided to leave his domestic team, New South Wales, to join Queensland ahead of the upcoming Australian summer. The Shellharbour-born has already played for two different domestic sides, previously being with NSW and South Australia. The Queensland Bulls will be Zampa's third domestic team.
"He is a world-class bowler, and his experience and insights will certainly benefit our group. We look forward to assisting him with his goal of continuing to represent Australia with distinction in the future," Queensland's High Performance General Manager, Bennett King, said.

Currently, representing London Spirit in The Hundred 2026, the leggie will link with the Queensland squad for the first half of the summer. Still, it won't be available for the entire season because of Australia's busy schedule.
The limited-overs specialist, who has played just 41 First-Class matches while making his debut in 2012, won't be playing much red-ball cricket for the Bulls, with Mitchell Swepson leading the spin attack in the longest format.
Ashes hero Jake Weatherald returned home
Just not Adam Zampa; it has been a busy time in Australia with players changing their domestic teams. Earlier this year, Test opener Jake Weatherald broke his union with Tasmania after spending three quality seasons.
Australia's recent Ashes hero returned home to New South Wales earlier in April. Moreover, he skipped last year's BBL, after being contracted by the Hobart Hurricanes, to concentrate more on his red-ball skills.
Recently, the left-handed opener spent time in the UK, playing half a dozen county matches for Essex, racking up 483 runs at 60.37 in nine innings, featuring a century and three fifties. His stint in the County Championship would bring value next year, as the ECB will host the 2027 Ashes.
Adam Zampa's switch a blessing in disguise for Australia?
Adam Zampa's form will be crucial for Australia as they build toward the next ODI World Cup 2027, which South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia will co-host.
Although the 34-year-old tweaker has a bulk load of experience, his shift from Sydney can be a blessing in disguise for Australia as the conditions at Brisbane would be more South Africa-esque.
That said, the tweaker hasn’t had much success in the Rainbow across formats. In ODI cricket, he has scalped 17 wickets in 13 matches played in South Africa, while also recording one of his poorest bowling averages there compared to other countries. In T20Is, he has taken just five wickets in South Africa after featuring in six matches.
