This has been a thoroughly dominant performance from South Africa, spanning across all three departments. They've trounced the Namibians with an inexperienced squad, and have sealed the series with a game to go. The reality check has been harsh on the Eagles, who showed immense promise in the T20I tri-series a few days ago, but have been humbled badly by their South-eastern neighbours in the ODI series. Still, there's lots to play for them - Namibia will take these learnings going into the CWC League 2 fixtures after the series.

Gerhard Erasmus (Namibia captain): "(On the defeat) Quite a margin of defeat, to be honest, we didn't want to be in that range, we wanted to compete strongly and put ourselves in a better position to win games at our home ground. Not very happy, to be honest.
(On whether he'd back himself bowling first) It's sort of what teams have done over the last couple of months. Nothing to do with it. Was a strong decision to bowl first, make inroads and keep them short of hopefully what is par. Usually tough to defend with one short side in the ground. We really put ourselves under pressure with the ball, and if we executed well we could have kept them to 270-290, that would have put us in a good position to win the game. The toss is only one bit of the game.
(Positives?) Just more balls under the belt for our guys against a quality South African side, now we need 7-8 guys to step up on the day and run them closer, that could be a big momentum-gainer for us going into the next couple of months. Still lots to play for on Sunday for us, Jack Brassell's four wickets, couple of guys got a few runs as well, among positives."

(On his batting mindset today) I think once you get in and get a start opening the batting, you always think that you can kick on. I think that’s an opener’s job, or a batter’s job. Once you get in, you try to get a big score for the team, and it happened to be my day today.
(Importance of batting in the top-order) Yeah, it’s very important. I mean, the ebbs and flows of an ODI game are just like what it was today—you absorb a bit of pressure and then hopefully kick on."
