Rarh Tigers are the new champions of the Men's Bengal T20 League 2026, and boy, have they deserved it! From start to finish, they have been one of the most complete sides in the competition. Sumanta Gupta and Shuvam Dey provided the firepower at the top of the order, while Sukhmeet Singh and Rohit Kumar formed a formidable pace partnership throughout the season. And then there was captain Shahbaz Ahmed, who led from the front and delivered in every department when it mattered the most.

Commiserations to Malda Smashers, who fought bravely all the way to the final over but ultimately fell 9 runs short in a gripping grand finale. That's all we have for you from Eden Gardens. We hope you've enjoyed our coverage of this memorable championship clash. This is Pritam Dey signing off alongside scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world. BYE BYE👋
Shahbaz Ahmed steps forward to collect the winner's trophy. The Rarh Tigers skipper lifts the coveted silverware amid jubilant celebrations from his teammates, capping off a remarkable campaign and a memorable triumph in the Men's Bengal T20 League 2026!
Shahbaz Ahmed (Rarh Tigers Captain): "(On the overall season) Well, this season has been incredible for us. Since the beginning I have kept on saying that this team is not dependent on a single individual. Everyone has stepped up for the team. Even today, we had Sukhmeet and Gaurav stepping up for the side and it was an outstanding performance from the boys.

(Any message to the team before the tournament?) We didn't have a good season last year. We had a mega auction where we bought a lot of players which included some new faces. Our coach motivated us a lot. He always wanted us to play positive cricket and that's the reason why we are champions tonight.

(Any message to his bowlers during pressure situations?) Nothing much. I just tell him to keep things simple. Sukhmeet had a lot of belief on himself and he did it a brilliant job tonight with the ball. He defended 12 runs. Gaurav played a fabulous knock too.

(Thoughts during the innings break) During the break, I told the boys to stay focused. Rohit bowled brilliantly after the rain break. The game was shortened and my message to the boys was to stay in the moment. We wanted to grab the momentum.

(On the last over of the match) We wanted to make sure of the bigger side which was the off side. I told Sukhmeet to bowl wide outside the off stump. I told the rest of the boys to let Sukhmeet stay in the zone, so I didn't disturb him much."
The Rarh Tigers players now make their way onto the stage to collect their winners' medals. Shahbaz Ahmed now steps forward to collect the winners' cheque worth 50 lakhs INR on behalf of the Rarh Tigers.
Mukesh Kumar (Malda Smashers Captain): "(On his overall season) The season was amazing for all of us. I am very happy with the performance by our team.

(On the chat in the dressing room) Umm, we talk about planning in the dressing room. I always have a simple theory. I just tell the boys to follow the process.

(On tonight's game) The wicket was amazing. We had a great time playing this game. I think the fielding department was the difference tonight. The run was chaseable but we had a bad day tonight.

(Emotions when the game was going down to the wire) Well, I felt that we conceded 15-20 runs more. We tried our best but felt short."
The Malda Smashers players make their way onto the stage to collect their runners-up medals. Mukesh Kumar steps forward to collect the runners-up cheque worth 30 lakhs INR on behalf of the Malda Smashers.
Karan Lal (Player of the Tournament): "(His target this season) Sir, my target for this season was to score 500 runs in this tournament and also smash 35 sixes. I also wanted to pick 15 wickets in this tournament. I missed out but I will do it next season.

I am trying to work a lot on myself. I try to improve everyday and I always want to help my team win. I think I need to work on my bowling, especially variations. I want to bowl yorkers as well. In terms of batting, I want to work on a few things. I want to improve my strike rate as well."
