Milestone
That is all we have from the comm box for this particular encounter. Tune into our coverage for the match between RCB and DC. It's me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) signing off on the behalf of my co-commentators Anirudh Modi and Sourya Chowdhury along with our scorer Paras Yadav.
Marcus Stoinis: It was great with twists after we thought we had it. I was looking at the scores at the end and can't say I was fully willing to bowl. KL controlled the innings, he stood up well. Quinton got us off to a flier and the others chipped in. So far, so good. Limited meetings help me, the players are building well in a relaxed environment. (On his role) We have to figure things out, it was different today from the last game. I'm okay to do with whatever's asked of me. It was closer than expected, we've had a few close games but fighting till the end and winning them will count.
Rohit Sharma, MI skipper-  Not building partnerships cost us, it was not a moment. We tried to put the team before the individual, so we tried to keep the key bowlers in the back-end but it did not workout, despite him bowling well. The others need to pull up their socks. We try and find combinations and playing XIs that work but we can't do it after losses. It depends on the opposition but losses make it difficult. Sometimes, the opposition's game must be applauded, as was the case with Rahul. If I know what's going wrong, I'd correct it but it's not coming off. But I do take responsibility but I will look to use my experience and we hope to come back again as a team too.

Arya: It was always going to be a tall task for the Mumbai Indians to chase down 200. However, it wasn’t the greatest start for the five-time champions as they lost skipper Rohit Sharma early on as his batting woes in the competition continued. It was Avesh Khan who got the prized wicket. Out came baby AB Dewald Brevis and he started off with some exceptional shots upfront.

He carries on from where he left in the previous game and made an immediate impact in this encounter as well. He timed the ball to perfection and took the attack to the LSG bowlers. He was making light work of the bowling as he raced off to 31 of just 12 deliveries before he held out at cover-point. His knock of 31 was studded with 6 fours and a maximum.

Ishan Kishan was also dismissed soon after and the Mumbai Indians found themselves in a bit of strife. Suryakumar Yadav needed support at the other end and he found an allie in Tilak Verma. The left-hander started slowly but then played some delightful shots to get his side going. SKY continued his great form and never allowed LSG to run away with the game.

The dismissal of Tilak Verma brought about a lull in the proceedings as MI found it difficult to get boundaries at will as the required rate kept climbing. SKY was eventually dismissed by Ravi Bishnoi with not the greatest of deliveries. It was a short one and SKYs attempted pull found the deep backward square leg fielder. Pollard was the last hope for the Mumbai Indians and he kept them in the game with some lusty blows.

He smashed Dushmantha Chameera for back to back sixes in the 17th over but the target was still quite far away. Jaydev Unadkat provided a ray of hope when he collected 14 runs of 3 deliveries in the penultimate over. Pollard needed to produce something special in the final over to get MI over the line but that wasn’t to be. Eventually, they fell well short by 18 runs.

Arya: A comprehensive victory for the Lucknow Super Giants in the end. A 18 runs victory and that has helped them occupy the 3rd position in the points table with four wins from six encounters. They are certainly one of the contendors to lift the title while the most successful team in the competition keeps searching for that elusive win. Their 6th straight defeat and this could be the end of the road for them in the competition.
