So, that is it from myself, Karthik Raj and my co-commentator, Ajay as we wrap up the coverage of this fixture. A note of thanks to our scorer, Sachin Yadav.
It will be one final push for Jamaica Kingsmen just like their skipper Rovman Powell said when they take on Antigua & Barbuda Falcons in the Final on Sunday (Monday, 4:30 AM in India). One team will be crowned CPL Champions for the first time. So, history in the pipeline!
What a stunning 207-run chase from the Jamaica Kingsmen as they advance to a thoroughly deserved final. Shimron Hetmyer ended up on the losing side but he can take heart from a productive CPL season which saw him reach the triple figure mark on two occasions including tonight.

Rovman Powell (Jamaica Kingsmen Captain):"[You had the steely determination, describe the journey] It is a proud journey to be honest. It started with us losing three games at the start. In the middle of the competition, we found some form and some confidence to realize that we could play cricket as a bunch. We wanted to squeeze into the play-offs because once a Jamaica team gets into the play-offs, they are dangerous.
[How would you assess your bowling effort?] We bowled well in patches. Andre Russell and a few of the other guys kind of struggled but when came off the field and the energy that he came back with was exceptional. I told the guys at the half-way mark that they are short by 15 runs. After Saim Ayub bowled a few balls to Hetmyer, he said skipper it is a very good wicket.
[What's been so special about your leadership] I think credit has to be given to the coaches and the owner. They have given me the control to actual run the franchise and to actually lead. That is something I have always wanted especially with a team coming to Jamaica and they don't know the local players. So, this is one year I tried to get involved as a captain. It's good to see that bearing fruit. A lot of credit has to be given to the boys, have fought really hard.
[On Shimron Hetmyer's knock] Special, he is a very special player. To come into a Play-off game with your entire country on the back. The pressure you get from Guyana when you don't score. To turn around from a few nights ago and come and score a hundred, he is a world-class player. It is unfortunate that it has come up on the losing side.
[Your perspective in facing Antigua & Barbuda Falcons] If you look at it, Antigua have played some of the best cricket in the competition. They have been really successful especially as a spin group, even as a fast bowling core. They have been a very successful team. We will take the next 24 hours to sit down, revise some plans. We will see if we can come up with some plans against their match-winning players.
[A word to the fans] Keep on supporting us. It was a tough start but we have fought a good battle we have one more last push. Those who can come down in the Jamaica colours, please come. It is a CPL final, support us."
Imran Tahir (Guyana Amazon Warriors Captain):"[Reflect on the batting effort] I think that was what we were expecting from our batting. Finally, they took responsibility and put a very good total. I am not the guy to give excuses. The conditions here were wet, that's what we had a chat about before going in that it's a challenge and unfortunately we have to defend. In the end, it was a very good game. Obviously, a bitter pill to swallow. We have been playing finals for last three years, so really wanted to finish on a high note and take the team through but have to give credit to the other team, they played better cricket.
[Do you think the total was sufficient and what was the message to the team?] Like I said, it is going to be wet conditions. Difficult to bowl in those conditions and they had a good start. We were expecting that but if we could have picked up two or three wickets earlier, that would have put pressure on the batters in the middle-order. Mehidy, myself, Khary has been a very good bowler throughout the campaign. We didn't do that and they kept scoring. We didn't pick up any wickets and there was a gap where we were catching up. There were one or two opportunities, they are part of the game but if we could avail that probably could be a different scenario.
[Could you identify the turning points in the second half?] Probably the catch. I don't want to put pressure on the youngster, he tried his best. It is always a difficult one. But in that situation, that catch was very valuable for our team and it could have been a different story.
[You message to the players and the fans] It has been a great campaign. We all chipped in. I won't say it was a consistent performance from a couple of guys from whom we were expecting a lot. It has been a great team effort, we gelled very well, we respect each other and enjoy each other's success. Unfortunately, the last part which matters to any team we didn't cross the line. I want to thank our fans. They came in numbers wherever we played. Really, really grateful. All over Caribbean, all the Islands. Through this journey, we met some beautiful people, they looked after us and shared the love. That's what Caribbean is all about. I want to wish all the best to the teams that qualified and hope they have a good final."
Shimron Hetmyer: "[On the gesture from Powell to share the award] All credit goes to Ravi. He's a hell of a guy to do something like that. I think they played out of their skin today. I am really disheartened that we lost but could not have happened to a better person."
Rovman Powell (POTM): "[On his knock of 40* off 17] Yeah, I think a lot of the work has been done. Credit needs to be given the guys who batted the first 15 overs, I think they were exceptional. But you know when we look at the large scale of the game, credit needs to be given to Guyana as well. They are a championship side. Hetmyer came out and scored a magnificent hundred, a lot of credit to Guyana.
[Where does he rate this innings in CPL] Maybe, one of the best I played. The most impactful. I always wanted to lead from the front as a captain. Tonight, provided the opportunity for me to do that and I am just grateful that I was able to.
[On his numbers against Tahir and his plans] I think when you are batting to survive, your intent is really different when from when you are batting to score. At that point, I felt I had the better of him because I was not looking to survive. The googly is a threat but once I get close to the googly, I back myself to hit it for six.
[On his emotions] I am feeling good. Feeling good to see a franchise come back to Jamaica and we are in the final. At the start of the competition, we set out three goals. To get into the playoffs as a new franchise, and when we get into the playoff, see if we can get into the final. We have achieved two of those, hopefully on Sunday we can push for the next one."
Player of the Match: Rovman Powell, who decides to share the award with Shimron Hetmyer
08:31 AM IST, 11:01 PM Local Time: What a performance from the Jamaica Kingsmen as they chase down 207 to reach the final in their first-ever CPL season. Stunningly composed chase as they get home with two balls to spare. Guyana Amazon Warriors finished top of the points table at the end of the league stage but have to return home empty-handed now.
