The Abu Dhabi T10 action continues tonight with two more matches on the schedule. UAE Bulls take on United Tigers, followed by Arabian Aces facing Royal Desert Champions. And so, the Lions have finally opened their account, while the Eagles have been handed their first setback of the tournament. Hetmyer's 65 not out was a magnificent effort, but Shanaka's explosive 60 proved even more valuable in the context of the chase. One man built the total, the other chased it down with fearless intent. It was a power-packed, boundary-filled, and thoroughly entertaining contest, with the Lions getting their first win after losing their opening match.

Credit to each and every player because everyone stepped up, and it was a complete team effort for us.
[On Dasun Shanaka's match-winning innings] It was outstanding. I played with Shanaka early in the CPL, so I know what he can bring to the team. Over the years, I've seen what he's capable of, and today was another example of how strong a player he is. He's extremely dedicated to his work, and I see him in the gym every day. He's very calculated in the way he approaches his game, so it's no surprise to see the results he's been getting.
[On building momentum after the win] The games are coming thick and fast, so every win counts. We don't want to fall behind and have to chase the pack. 6:52 PM IST, 5:22 PM Local Time: WHAT A SHOW! SHANAKA TOOK THE CENTRE STAGE! In a contest where sixes flew, catches were dropped, and momentum kept changing hands, Yas Lions produced a stunning six-wicket victory over Emirates Eagles, chasing down 116 with eight balls to spare. Shimron Hetmyer had given the Eagles a fighting total with a magnificent unbeaten 65, but Dasun Shanaka came up with an even more explosive answer, smashing 60 off just 25 balls to turn the chase into a spectacle. The Lions had a few early hiccups, but once Shanaka found his rhythm, the Eagles were left watching the game slip away. Their first win of the season is here, while the Eagles have suffered their first defeat after winning their opening match.
