Pakistan were too strong for Bangladesh as they emerge victorious in the Bronze Medal match of the Women’s Cricket Competition in the Asian Games 2026. All eyes will now be on the Gold Medal match where Sri Lanka will face India. Do join us for that at 9:30 AM IST/1 PM Local Time.

8:31 AM IST, 12:01 PM Local Time: Pakistan bag Bronze Medal in the Women’s Cricket Competition in the Asian Games 2026. They beat Bangladesh convincingly by 31 runs to secure a podium-finish. They failed to defend 178 against Sri Lanka in their previous game but have defended 146 successfully today against Bangladesh.
Defending 146, Pakistan got off to an ideal start. They dismissed Juairiya Ferdous (4), Dilara Akter (12) and Sobhana Mostary (2) inside the powerplay. Skipper Nigar Sultana along with Sharmin Akhter tried to resurrect the innings but Pakistan bowled beautifully and the required run rate crept up.
Nigar got dismissed on 25 as the 47-run stand was broken in the 14th over. The lower-order batters failed to contribute as Bangladesh kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Sharmin tried hard and remained unbeaten on 46 but it was too much to do in the end as Bangladesh finished their innings on 114/7 to fall short by 31 runs.
Umm-e-Hani was the standout bowler for Pakistan. She picked up three wickets, conceding only 10 runs in her four overs. Tasmia Rubab (1/25), skipper Fatima Sana (1/25), Nashra Sandhu (1/19) and Ayesha Zafar (1/10) grabbed a wicket apiece as they defended the total successfully.
Earlier, Pakistan opted to bat first and got off to a solid start. Gull Feroza started aggressively and helped her side post 44/0 at the end of six overs. Bangladesh pulled back things brilliantly post the powerplay. They sent back Gull (31), Saira Jabeen (5), Shawaal Zulfiqar (17), Eyman Fatima (0) and Ayesha Zafar (9) in a quick succession to reduce Pakistan to 67/5 in the 11th over.
Skipper Fatima Sana was dropped on naught and she made sure that Bangladesh paid a heavy price for it. She along with Aliya Riaz (25) put 67 for the sixth wicket which helped them finish with a flourish. Fatima scored 45 off 30 before falling on the final ball of the innings as Pakistan posted 145/8 on the board.
For Bangladesh, Nahida Akter (2/21), Shorna Akter (2/16) and Ritu Moni (2/27) picked up two wickets apiece. The batters then found it tough in the run chase and they lost the fixture by 31 runs. As a result, Pakistan bagged the Bronze Medal.
