Tomorrow, we have a couple of exciting encounters lined up. Defending champions Pakistan U19 will take on UAE U19, while India U19 will lock horns with Nepal U19. Do join us for both games!
A terrific all-round performance from Afghanistan U19 as they have hammered Bangladesh U19 by a massive margin. They were impressive in every department and thoroughly deserved this victory.
Sohail Khan (Afghanistan U19 Captain): "(Did they think that 231 was going to be enough to defend?) First of all, I am very grateful to god for giving us this opportunity and also, congratulations to all Afghans. It's okay to score 231 as we had the trust on our bowling attack. We knew that the result will be positive.

(On the two fast bowlers) They bowled exceptionally well. Because of them, we won the match.

(Any areas of improvement?) We will focus on all the departments. We will try our best to play good cricket in the upcoming matches."
Farid Hasan Faysal (Bangladesh U19 Captain): "(Was 232 a chaseable total?) Yeah, I thought it was a chaseable total but it's also part of the game. This was bad time for us.

(What went wrong today in the batting innings?) They had really good bowlers. It was just part of the game. Looking forward to the next game."
Faisal Rahimi (Player of the Match): "(On his batting innings) First of all, I am very grateful to god for giving me this opportunity. I would like to congratulate all the Afghans back home as well. Looking forward to the upcoming games as well.

(How was his mindset after he was losing wickets at the other end) Well, we were losing wickets from one end. I just wanted to execute the learnings which I have learned from my coaches. That's why I succeeded.

(Was he thinking about scoring a Hundred?) Well, I was not thinking about scoring a century. I was just focused on doing well for the team.

(Will he dedicate this award to someone?) Yes, I would like to dedicate this victory to my Mom because she supports and prays for me a lot."
Player of the Match: Faisal Rahimi
4:59 PM IST & 3:29 PM Local Time: What a dominating performance from Afghanistan U19! They have bundled out Bangladesh U19 for just 118, sealing a massive 113-run victory.
Afghanistan U19 won the toss and elected to bat but lost two wickets inside the powerplay. Bangladesh struck twice soon after to reduce them to 58/4, putting Afghanistan under considerable pressure. Taher Sarwary chipped in with 37, while Faisal Rahimi stood tall with a well-compiled 83 off 97 deliveries, bringing up a fine half-century along the way. However, Bangladesh tightened their grip in the final 10 overs and bowled Afghanistan out for 231 in 49 overs. Tafiul Alam Tamim was the pick of the bowlers with excellent figures of 4/41.
In reply, Bangladesh U19 endured a nightmare start as the new-ball duo of Amir Hamza and Noor Niazi made the ball talk, putting the top order under immense pressure. Wickets tumbled at regular intervals as Bangladesh were reduced to 27/5, leaving them with a mountain to climb. Only three batters managed to reach double figures, with Zarif Siam (41), Robiul Hasan Anik (33) and Rubai Islam Rizon (21) offering some resistance. However, Bangladesh were eventually bundled out for 118 in 25.5 overs as Afghanistan U19 registered a thumping 113-run victory. Amir Hamza (3/23), Noor Niazi (3/29) and Sami Mubarez (3/11) picked up three wickets apiece.
