The series holds additional importance as India’s 15-year-old prodigy, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, was named in the senior squad after a scintillating IPL 2026 performance.
Notably, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is the youngest-ever Indian player to feature in an international squad.
Despite denying a debut in the Ireland T20Is, the Indian team management, under Gautam Gambhir, gave the young batter a chance in the 2nd T20I versus England at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground.
For the unaware, Sooryavanshi became the youngest player ever to represent India in international cricket. The youngster made his debut at the age of 15 years and 99 days, creating a record that had stood for nearly four decades.
