Since the IPL arrived in world cricket, the game has explored some of the unreal talents who became big names with time. Among the franchises, the Mumbai Indians have played a vital role in nurturing young players who eventually ruled the cricketing world with their brilliance.

In recent times, no bowler can meet brilliance of Jasprit Bumrah, and MI shaped his wings when he was a raw talent. Similarly, they shaped Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Tilak Varma, and Ishan Kishan, and India cricket got future superstars in them. In the T20I format, time passed on too quickly, just like Bumrah, who once started like a youngster and is now already a senior member.

Building a strong future means investing in young talent, and the Mumbai Indians seem to be doing exactly that. After the auction, they added some amazing fresh talents to their IPL 2026 squad who have the potential to become the next big thing. Here are the three uncapped players who can put the season on fire with their brilliance.

Mumbai Indians' Uncapped Stars in focus for IPL 2026

1. Naman Dhir

In recent times, several youngsters from the Mumbai Indians have grabbed attention, and Naman Dhir is certainly one of the most exciting among them. The Punjab all-rounder turned heads in the Sher-E-Punjab T20 league when Mumbai’s scouts spot his exceptional ability and named him into the squad later on the squad.

With an aggressive mindset and the ability to finish games under pressure, he also brings the added advantage of delivering game-changing spells in the middle overs. He made his IPL debut in 2024 and scored 392 runs in 23 matches.

In the shortest format, the lower-order players play a crucial role, and Naman Dhir played this role well for the MI. Although he managed 252 runs in 16 matches last season, the youngster is still waiting for his true breakout moment, and the upcoming IPL edition could finally provide that big opportunity.

2. Ashwani Kumar

IPL has always been a platform where young talents find life-changing opportunities, and the Mumbai Indians have mastered the art of nurturing them into future stars. After coming to the squad, Punjab’s left-arm pacer Ashwani Kumar grabbed attention in his debut match in the tournament.

His raw pace and ability to swing the ball consistently turned heads in the domestic circuit before making his IPL debut in 2025. Facing KKR, he marked his first IPL wicket after dismissing Ajinkya Rahane and ended up taking a stunning four-wicket haul. He featured in seven matches and secured 11 wickets.

The cricket world is well over what he can do in death, and international cricket is just waiting for his arrival. After ending the last season on a high, he will try to start the IPL 2026 where he left off. If captain Hardik Pandya shows faith and hands him the ball in crucial moments, the young pacer could set the stage on fire with his impact.

3. Mohammed Izhar

Cricket talents from Bihar have always been a treasure for Indian cricket, and the Mumbai Indians have already shaped one such star, Ishan Kishan, who has grown from a promising youngster into a big name. Another name has been added to the list as the franchise bought Mohammed Izhar in the IPL 2026 auction.

He has the ability to dominate from the first ball to the last, blending control with a fearless attacking approach. He made his Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy debut in the last season and already showcased his excellence in limited opportunities. In just five matches, he secured nine wickets with an economy rate of 7.11.

While facing Madhya Pradesh, he secured an outstanding four-wicket haul as the fans witnessed a glimpse of his greatness. Though he has only just secured his maiden IPL deal and his debut is still ahead, handing him the ball could unleash his magic and provide a major boosts to the bowling lineup.
