Pakistan Cricket Board's net worth (Source:X)
The Pakistan Cricket Board is expected to face one of the biggest financial crises after the Pakistan government decided not to allow Pakistan to play against India in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. PCB net worth has been in discussion off late given the big financial risk Mohsin Naqvi has taken.
The marquee clash between India and Pakistan is scheduled for Sunday, February 15, in Colombo.
However, just a few days before the start of the tournament, the Pakistan government declined to give approval to the team to take the field against India, despite the match being held at a neutral venue.
This last-minute decision has put the PCB in a difficult position, with serious consequences now looming. This selective boycott has triggered serious concerns within the ICC and could result in severe financial penalties for the PCB.
According to reports, the ICC has already informed the PCB that it could face legal action from the official broadcasters of the T20 World Cup 2026 for withdrawing from the high-profile fixture.
The fact cannot be denied that the India-Pakistan match is one of the most-watched games in cricket and plays a major role in broadcast revenues, advertising deals, and global viewership figures.
What is PCB Net Worth?
Amid this ongoing controversy, attention has turned to the financial strength of the Pakistan Cricket Board and what it stands to lose in reference to the current PCB net worth.
The estimates PCB net worth currently ranges from ₹450 crore to ₹580 crore (as per Jagranjosh in 2025). For the 2023–24 financial year, the board reported revenues of around PKR 10 billion, which translates to 3.23 billion INR.
It is important to note that the PCB is ranked as the fourth richest cricket board in the world. According to news24online, the PCB earns Rs 300-400 crore annually, of which its largest source of income is from the ICC.
This is precisely why the current standoff poses such a serious threat to their income, which makes up more than 80 per cent of their total earnings.
If Pakistan ultimately refuses to play against India, the ICC could withhold a significant portion, or even the entirety, of the Pakistan board's revenue.
PCB's Net Worth in Indian Rupees, Pakistani Rupees, dollars
| Pakistan's Net Worth | Figures |
| PKR | PKR 1390.5-1792.2 crore |
| INR | ₹450-₹580 crore (Approx) |

ICC may impose heavy penalties on Pakistan over India match boycott
Despite this financial loss, one of the ICC's strongest actions would the to ban foreign players from participating in the Pakistan Super League.
This would be a major blow to the league, which depends heavily on international stars for viewership and sponsorship. The ICC could also withdraw international recognition and commercial backing for the PSL.
The PSL has played a major role in PCB's growth since its launch in 2016. The league generates income through broadcasting rights, sponsorships, and ticket sales, while also contributing to tourism and fan engagement within Pakistan.
The ICC may also order Pakistan to compensate broadcasters for the substantial revenue loss resulting from the India–Pakistan match not taking place.
In addition, the PCB could be asked to pay broadcasters directly from its own funds. Foreign cricket boards may refuse to issue NOCs to their players, preventing them from playing in the PSL. This would reduce the league’s quality, popularity, and commercial value.
Pakistan could also face sporting isolation.
- Exclusion from the Asia Cup
- Suspension of the bilateral series involving Pakistan
- Loss of hosting rights for future ICC events
PCB yet to officially respond on the matter
Despite the seriousness of the situation, the PCB has not yet officially written to the ICC to explain the government's decision.
However, the ICC has already reacted to a social media post by the Pakistan government, urging it to reconsider and warning that the move could have wider consequences for cricket in the country.
