IPL 2026 came to an end a couple of nights ago, and it was Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) who achieved the rare feat of winning back-to-back titles of the franchise T20 league’s most prestigious competition.
As in every year, it was a roller coaster for every IPL team, with challenges and difficulties part of the game, coupled with injury woes. Some of them survived to go past the hurdles, while the others struggled miserably to stay on the back foot.
Here, in this article, let’s take a look at the all 10 IPL teams' ratings, based on how they had fared in the recently concluded edition.
Lucknow Super Giants - 3/10
- Under Rishabh Pant, LSG only had four wins in 14 outings, leaving them unable to avoid the wooden spoon. No wonder Pant later decided not to continue the captaincy duties any further.
- LSG had as many as six different opening combinations in IPL 2026, suggesting they had few plans to execute to achieve success.
- LSG bowlers averaged 36.85 in IPL 2026, which was the third-worst in terms of statistics, after Punjab Kings (40.94) and Delhi Capitals (37.41). Hence, it is safe to say that their batting was not the only concern.
Mumbai Indians - 3/10
- Saved by a better net run rate (NRR) to avoid last place on the IPL points table, Mumbai Indians had a batting average of just 27.57 in IPL 2026. Only LSG had a poorer average (25.55) than theirs, indicating how unstable their star-studded batting lineup was throughout the competition.
- As Jasprit Bumrah failed to influence the IPL 2026, having taken only four wickets, Mumbai Indians only had one occasion when they took all 10 wickets. Only Punjab Kings and LSG were the sides that failed to take all 10 wickets in a single innings, while KKR had the same feat (1) as MI.
Chennai Super Kings - 4/10
- With Ruturaj Gaikwad’s constant failures, CSK could only aggregate 2390 runs in IPL 2026. It was the second-lowest, after KKR’s tally of 2209.
- Even though CSK bowlers were badly hit with injuries, they conceded the second-lowest number of sixes (135, after KKR’s 115) and the joint-lowest number of fours (201, along with Delhi Capitals). Of course, playing at Chepauk was a factor in this data.

Kolkata Knight Riders - 4/10
- KKR had the average run rate of 9.31 throughout IPL 2026, the lowest among all 10 teams. They also had the fourth-lowest average (28.17), after LSG (25.55), Mumbai Indians (27.57) and Delhi Capitals (28.17).
- At the same time, KKR had the best economy rate in IPL 2026, conceding just 9.31 runs per over. Sunil Narine, who had leaked just 6.65 runs per over, needless to say, played his part majorly here.
Delhi Capitals - 4/10
- Axar Patel’s DC bowled the second-lowest number of dot balls (483) in IPL 2026, after Punjab Kings (461). The grand failures of Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel with the ball in hand are highlighted by the given data.
- Delhi Capitals could only smash 117 sixes in IPL 2026. Only KKR had punished the bowlers fewer times (115) than they had.
Punjab Kings - 5/10
- Riding on swashbuckling openers, Punjab Kings had the best strike rate of IPL 2026, which was 172.32. To give a little context, LSG had the worst of all, striking at 146.37.
- Courtesy of picking up only 67 wickets, Punjab Kings only had an average of 40.94, the worst of all. Thanks to that, Punjab had the worst strike rate (23.43) among bowling units in IPL 2026. Consistent catch drops made their lives even more miserable.
Rajasthan Royals - 6.5/10
- Courtesy of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s exploits, Rajasthan Royals had the third best strike rate (166.69) in IPL 2026.
- Rajasthan Royals lost wickets 99 times in IPL 2026, two more than bottom-ranked Sunrisers Hyderabad, who played one fewer match than them.
- Riyan Parag’s RR conceded 3,064 runs in IPL 2026, the joint-highest along with Gujarat Titans, who played a match more than them.

Sunrisers Hyderabad - 7/10
- Even though SRH finished behind RR, they were so great at ball-hitting, with Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen making waves. Only Punjab Kings, who played a match lesser than them, had a better strike rate (167.11) than them.
- Despite being hit by injuries and the struggles of first-choice Indian pacers – Harshal Patel and Jaydev Unadkat – SRH managed to pick up 95 wickets in IPL 2026. It was the fourth-highest on the chart, with the above three (GT, RCB and RR) playing at least one more match than them.
Gujarat Titans - 8/10
- Gujarat Titans bowled 771 dot balls, the highest by far among all 10 IPL teams. Both Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj played an integral part in making it happen.
- Unfortunately, GT struggled to keep the scorecard ticking at a good pace, with playing 647 dot balls, the most by any of these teams, speaking volumes. For the unaware, Punjab Kings played the fewest dot balls, which was 475.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru - 9/10
- RCB had the second-best economy rate (9.51) in IPL 2026 and also bowled the second-highest number of dot balls (635). This indicates that they not only bowled dots, but also kept everything in control, helping the side win back-to-back titles.
- Courtesy of Virat Kohli’s textbook boundaries coupled with firepower from Rajat Patidar, who smashed 42 sixes, RCB smashed the second-most fours (261) and the third-highest number of maximums (164).
- A champion side always has multiple match-winners, and RCB had exactly that. Hence, they performed like a unit, rather than as individual milestones, resulting in them winning the ultimate award.
