Vijay Dahiya is a former Indian wicketkeeper who played international cricket from 2000 to 2001. After a couple of good seasons for Delhi in domestic cricket, he earned a national call-up.
Dahiya played cricket for the North Zone squad that captured the Duleep and Deodhar Trophies in the 1999–2000 season. He set his foot in domestic cricket against Punjab at Ludhiana in the 1993/94 season. In October 2000, Dahiya made his white-ball cricket debut against Kenya. He was not given the opportunity to bat, but he did manage to take one catch behind the wickets.
On November 18, 2000, he played his first International Test match against Zimbabwe.
Dahiya was nimble behind the stumps, doing his job without any fuss. He was brave with the bat, frequently performing at his peak under pressure. He did play a few crucial One-Day International innings, the most memorable of which was a 39-ball 51 against Australia in Bangalore.
Dahiya was appointed as the Delhi coach in 2007/08 but was sacked because of his coaching commitments to Kolkata Knight Riders. He led the domestic team to victory. In 2021 he was appointed as the assistant coach of Lucknow Super Giants.
