Another talented Australian cricketer to have come out of the Under-19 setup, Sebastian Gotch currently plays for the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League.
A resolute right-handed wicket-keeper batter, Gotch made a name for himself playing for the Victoria U-23 side and made his first-class debut for Victoria during the 2016-17 Sheffield Shield season.
2016 was a decisive year for his cricketing journey as Gotch was drafted in the Melbourne Stars squad for the 2016 Big Bash League season.
Gotch’s first three seasons with the Stars were mediocre, to say the least. He averaged 20,9, and 13 respectively and was a subject of criticism from the pundits who believed in his abilities.
However, the criticism made Gotch a better player as he notched up back-to-back centuries for Victoria during the Sheffield Shield in 2020 and became a vital member of their squad.
