Arya: So that's it from this particular encounter folks. Stay tuned for another game which is already underway between the Brisbane Heat and Sydney Thunder. Till the next time, me, Arya Sekhar Chakraborty signing off on the behalf of my close mate and co-commentator Kingshuk Kusari.
Arya: Earlier in the day it was Peter Handscomb who won the toss and put the Stars in. It was an eventful opening over from Riley Meredith to start off proceedings. Marcus Stoinis timed the ball to perfection from the outset despite a relatively sedate start to his innings. Once set he kept plundering the Hurricanes' bowlers all around the Bellerive Oval and remained unbeaten on 97 of 55 deliveries studded with 7 fours and 7 sixes. He got ample support from Nicholas Pooran and Harlton Cartwright and it was their joint efforts which propelled them to a huge score of 183 in their allotted 20 overs. Nathan Elis and Riley Meredith were the pick of the bowlers with three and two under their belt. It was Andre Fletcher who took some stunning catches in the field which tilted the tide in their favour.
Arya: So finally the Melbourne Stars eke out a victory against the Hobart Hurricanes by 10 runs after intense drama all through the match. The target was always going to be a stiff one for the Hurricanes and their slow start made it more difficult for them. Ben McDermott had a topsy turvy day. He wasn't finding the middle of the bat but when he did it was strokeplay at its very best. He timed everything to perfection and shared some crucial stands with Malan and Ingram. It was sensational batting performance from them after the 10th over but the huge required rate proved to be way too much in the end as they ended up losing the match by 10 runs. For the Hurricanes, Mcdermott smashed a sensational 91 of 58 deliveries which got them close to the target. For the Stars, it was Sam Rainbird who was the pick of the bowlers bagging two wickets.

W WICKET!!!! a big run out here, full delivery outside off, Handscomb moves across the off stump, tries to whip this down the leg side, gets a leg bye down square leg, tries for a non existent single and gets run out at the batting end and this should be it, the Stars can smell victory here
Arya: Maxwell tells Stanlake to bowl full and wide
