Richard Gleeson made a name for himself in the 2016 T20 Blast for Northamptonshire. The right-arm medium pacer was an integral part of the Notts squad as they reached the finals. He missed the final game due to an injury, but was the MVP of his side, taking wickets at regular intervals and also going at an economy of less than six runs per over.
Gleeson had a mastery on yorker and was the death bowling specialist for the Notts. As a result, he was roped in by the Rangpur Riders in the 2016 Bangladesh Premier League.
Impressed by Gleesonās death bowling, his coach, David Ripley recommended his name to the England selectors for the shortest form of the game.
In 2020, Gleeson was called up to the England Lions squad ahead of their tour to Australia.
The pacer suffered side strain ahead of the 2021 domestic season and missed a chunk of matches due to the injury.
A hard-working pace bowler, Gleeson is known as the āDeath Bowling Specialistā in the domestic circuit. He has toiled hard in the domestic arena and now towards the twilight of his career, Gleeson will aim to nurture the youngster for the future.
