Player Bio

When Oliver "Ollie" Peake walked out to bat for Victoria in early 2025, there was a sense of continuity in Australian cricket’s story. The 18-year-old batting all-rounder from Geelong is the son of former Victorian cricketer Clinton Peake, and already, he’s carving out his own name with the same fluency and determination that once defined his father’s game.

Born in Geelong, Peake’s cricketing journey began early. His natural timing and balance stood out even in junior cricket, and by his mid-teens, he was a regular feature in Geelong Cricket Club’s senior XI in the Victorian Premier competition.

Peake’s first big impression on a larger stage came during the 2024 ICC Under-19 World Cup in South Africa. His contributions with the bat were instrumental in helping Australia lift the trophy.

Those performances accelerated his domestic rise. Peake made his Sheffield Shield debut for Victoria in March 2025 against Western Australia, scoring a confident 52 in the first innings at the WACA. He later earned a rookie contract with the state side, a clear sign of the faith Victoria’s selectors have in his long-term potential.

In January 2025, Peake made his Big Bash debut for Melbourne Renegades. “That’s a teenage sensation!” former Aussie wicketkeeper Brad Haddin said of Peake on debut in the BBL. He will continue to be with the Renegades' squad for the 2025-26 BBL season.

He made his List A debut in July 2025. Interestingly, the 2006-born teenage left-handed batter scored a fifty each on his List A and first-class debut game.

In October 2024, he was honoured with the Australian Cricket Society’s Young Cricketer of the Year award.

With his Under-19 success, early first-class runs, and growing exposure to professional environments, Peake looks well on course to continue Victoria’s proud tradition of producing dependable top-order batters.
