Jayden Seales Already Warned Pakistan In 2025 Before Test Carnage

Pakistan's batting collapse in the first Test against West Indies on July 28 did not come out of nowhere. While many would remember Jayden Seales' magnificent five-wicket haul that sealed a 90-run victory for the Caribbean side, the signs had already been there almost a year earlier.

Back in August 2025, Seales produced one of the greatest ODI spells by a West Indies fast bowler against Pakistan, ripping through the visitors with breathtaking figures of 6/18 in Tarouba. 

It was a spell that completely broke Pakistan's batting unit and ultimately earned Jayden Seales the Player of the Series award as West Indies clinched their first ODI series win over Pakistan in 34 years.

Almost 12 months later, the same fast bowler once again proved why Pakistan simply have not found an answer to his relentless accuracy and movement.

The ODI spell that announced Jayden Seales as Pakistan's biggest nightmare

Pakistan entered the deciding third ODI with the series level at 1-1 after splitting the opening two games.

Shai Hope's unbeaten 120 helped West Indies recover from a slow start to post a competitive 294/6, but the match was still far from over. Pakistan possessed a batting line-up capable of chasing challenging totals.

That belief lasted only a handful of overs. Seales needed just three deliveries to remove Saim Ayub before returning in his next over to dismiss Abdullah Shafique for another duck. Pakistan were suddenly 8/2, and the pressure had only begun.

His third wicket turned into the defining image of the match. Mohammad Rizwan shouldered arms to what looked like a harmless delivery outside off stump, only to watch the ball seam back sharply and clip the off bail in spectacular fashion. It was the sort of dismissal every fast bowler dreams of producing.

Babar, Rizwan and Pakistan's top order had no answers

After removing Rizwan, Jayden Seales trapped Babar Azam leg-before with Pakistan still reeling at 23/4. From there, the chase never recovered. He returned towards the end of the innings to dismiss Naseem Shah and Hasan Ali, completing career-best figures of 6/18 from only 7.2 overs as Pakistan were bundled out for just 92.

West Indies eventually won by a massive 202 runs, recording their biggest-ever ODI victory over Pakistan and sealing a historic series triumph.

Looking back now, the similarities are impossible to ignore. In both matches, Seales dismantled Pakistan's top order with disciplined seam bowling, removed key batters early and ensured Pakistan never recovered.

The ODI demolition almost felt like a warning that Pakistan failed to decode before returning to the Caribbean for the Test series.

Jayden Seales has developed a habit of tormenting Pakistan

Fast bowlers often enjoy favourable match-ups against certain opponents, and Seales seems to have found exactly that against Pakistan.

His ability to pitch the ball on the perfect hard length, extract late seam movement and attack the stumps has repeatedly exposed Pakistan's technical flaws against quality pace.

Whether it was Mohammad Rizwan leaving one that crashed into off stump in the ODI or Pakistan's top order collapsing again in the recently concluded Test, Seales has consistently dictated terms whenever these two sides have met.
