Quinton de Kock and Virat Kohli were integral parts of RCB during IPL 2018. Even though they were always considered two of the best in the business in T20s, RCB did not get much success with them being around, as they finished sixth on the points table.

On Wednesday, during CPL 2026, de Kock and Kohli found themselves in the same headline once again. More particularly, it happened when de Kock, coming to bat at No. 3, made 106 off 57 balls, which had 11 fours and six sixes in Match 23 of the ongoing competition, between St Kitts & Nevis Patriots and Barbados Tridents.

David Warner, another T20 great, has the same number of centuries, having played 439 T20 matches. Chris Gayle, fondly called the Universe Boss, tops the chart with a spectacular record of 22 T20 centuries, while Pakistan Test captain Babar Azam has 13 centuries in the format.

A Closer Look At Kohli Vs Quinton de Kock In T20s

Apart from 10 centuries, Virat Kohli has 110 half-centuries as well in T20s, striking at 135.88 for his 14218 runs. He has consistently maintained an impressive average despite a terrible IPL 2022 campaign, in which he averaged just over 22 from 341 runs in 16 matches.

Quinton de Kock, on the other hand, failed to live up to his lofty expectations of late. Even though he had a century for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2026, he could not maintain the ultra-aggressive approach, resulting in him losing his place in the playing XI after three matches.

Will MI Retain De Kock For IPL 2027?

Despite the fact that de Kock could only play three matches in IPL 2026 after coming back to his old franchise, he, in all likelihood, will be retained by the five-time champions.

He was signed at an INR 1 crore price for IPL 2026, and with a mini-auction coming up, there could be very few options who can be a better cover for Ryan Rickelton than de Kock.

Besides, de Kock, 33, has not seemed completely out of form anywhere. His notable performances, nevertheless, have come in bits and pieces in recent times.

Therefore, that should be enough reason for MI to keep de Kock for IPL 2027.
