India lit up Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad while playing against New Zealand in the all-important T20 World Cup final on Sunday. The Men in Blue piled up 255/5, with Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Shivam Dube going berserk just when it mattered the most.

Riding on blistering starts from Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma, India raced to 92 runs in the first six overs of the game. They did not stop from there on, with Ishan Kishan carrying the momentum with a 25-ball 54. Shivam Dube then gave the solid finish, smashing 24 runs in the final over to take India past 250.

Even though 250 were always on the cards, India slowed down for a bit after Jimmy Neesham’s triple strike. Nevertheless, Dube made sure they would get there, and New Zealand must pull off something extraordinary to get the job done once they come to chase a record-breaking total.
