Delhi Capitals openers Pathum Nissanka and KL Rahul nearly wiped off half off their team’s target on their own within the first 10 overs of the run chase. The two cricketers shared 110 runs in just 9.3 overs, with Nissanka smearing 62 of those runs from 33 deliveries.

Nitish Rana at number three also minted 33 off 17 as the Capitals motored towards the 200-run mark in the slog overs.

Earlier in the game, Rajasthan Royals batted first and mounted 225-6, largely owing to a fiery 50-ball 90 from captain Riyan Parag. For the Capitals, Mitchell Starc unfurled the spell of the evening with figures of 3-40.
