How Buttler Shaped England Cricket With His Fierce Batting
Buttler has always been a fearless, dynamic, and aggressive T20 batter, while his ability to anchor an innings has consistently helped England reach remarkable heights.
Notably, he played pivotal roles in England's 2019 ODI World Cup and 2022 T20 World Cup triumphs, while also pioneering an ultra-aggressive batting approach.
Before Jos Buttler's rise, England's batting was often viewed as more classical and measured. However, his arrival transformed that outlook completely. Buttler introduced a fearless 360-degree style of batting, combining scoops, ramps, and innovative strokeplay with immense power.
Although this aggressive brand of cricket occasionally resulted in collapses, Buttler often acted as the stabilising force who rescued the team.
The heroic rescue from Jos Buttler
During the 2019 World Cup final, for instance, when England were in deep trouble at 86 for 4 while chasing 242, Buttler produced a crucial 59 to help guide the side to one of the most dramatic victories in cricket history.
At 35 years of age, Buttler may be approaching the latter stages of his career, but he continues to perform at the highest level. In IPL 2026, representing Gujarat Titans, he scored 526 runs at a strike rate of 152.46.
As the English veteran continues to add to his remarkable list of records, India are currently finding it difficult to navigate the daunting chase set by the hosts at Lord's.
