Indian sports editor Vikrant Gupta has seemingly exposed Pakistan’s backroom politics amidst the ongoing 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. With Pakistan government remaining adamant in their stance of boycotting Team India at the showpiece event, Gupta has uncovered some tall demands on part of the PCB in an explosive social media post.

The Indian editor revealed that the PCB has put as many as five major demands before the International Cricket Council (ICC) in a bid to re-consider Pakistan’s boycott stand against their arch-rivals.

India, Pakistan fans erupt as Vikrant Gupta uncovers PCB’s agenda

Prominent Indian journalist Vikrant Gupta recently exposed PCB’s hidden agenda behind boycotting Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2026 match against Team India. In an explosive social media post, Vikrant seemingly confirmed that the Pakistan government and the PCB is not only standing by the ousted Bangladesh team and the BCB, but is also expecting additional privileges from the ICC.

Among the many privileges the PCB has reportedly demanded from the ICC is the resumption of India vs Pakistan bilateral matches, Team India touring Bangladesh in spite of the rise of anti-India sentiments in the South Asian country, and a separate tri-series between the three Asian giants.

As one can expect, the ICC rejected each of the three aforementioned demands citing that bilateral tours do not fall under their “domain”.

While it is difficult to verify, or question, Vikrant Gupta’s findings, his explosive social media post sparked a wave of mixed responses from the Indian and Pakistani cricketing fraternity.

For starters, a legion of Indian cricket fans equated Vikrant Gupta with a “Dhurandhar” for exposing Pakistan’s hidden agenda. Meanwhile, several Pakistan supporters are crying foul and terming the exposé as “fake news”, even though the PCB has previously demanded playing bilateral series with India.

Nonetheless, here is a look at some of the fans reacting to Vikrant Gupta.

Why did Pakistan government boycott Pakistan’s match vs India?

While the Pakistan government did not clarify any particular reason behind Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2026 boycott of India, one can assume they came to the decision in light of the prevailing geo-political tensions between the two countries.

Ever since confirming Pakistan’s boycott stand against India, a match long considered an ICC event’s biggest cash cow, the PCB has been warned by the ICC as well as by the SLC.

Earlier this month, an SLC official reportedly wrote to the PCB and explained the dire consequences of an India vs Pakistan boycott, considering the big-ticket February 15 fixture has nearly sold out all tickets at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

What happens if India vs Pakistan gets abandoned?

If the PCB continues to persist with their boycott stand, the India vs Pakistan match on February 15 will be called off by the ICC on the day of action. Earlier this month, a report indicated that the Indian team is planning to travel and practice in Colombo for the scheduled fixture.

In such a case, the ICC will be handing the two crucial Group A points on offer to Team India.
