On Saturday, the one-off Test between India and Afghanistan commenced at the Mullanpur Stadium in New Chandigarh. The Shubman Gill-led side won the toss and opted to bat first. Contrary to expectations, India got off to a shaky start.
KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal stitched a 41-run opening stand, but it was not the best of partnership. The openers struggled to get going, and there were several moments in the match where Afghanistan were close to breaking the partnership.

On the 1st ball of the 11th over, KL Rahul looked to cut a good length delivery off Ziaur Rahmanās bowling. However, the batter mistimed it, and there was a loud appeal for caught behind. The umpire was unmoved, and the keeper, too, showed no interest.
Afghanistan skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi was in a fix about whether to go for the review. The bowler and Rahmanullah Gurbaz at the 2nd slip were confident, but the skipper believed in his keeper. The decision turned out to be a nightmare because the replay showed a big spike.
