After all the drama and chaos, the D-Day is here for Team Pakistan, as they are set to take on England for one final time in the three-match Test series, starting on September 9 at Edgbaston Stadium, Birmingham.

After the 191-run defeat at Lord’s, the PCB rejigged the whole squad, dropping seven of their players from their initial team, including the likes of Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha.

Meanwhile, Saim Ayub, Abdullah Fazal, and five uncapped cricketers have been called up for the ENG vs PAK 3rd Test.

In this article, we will analyse the Pakistan Playing XI vs England for 3rd Test, scheduled at Edgbaston Stadium, Birmingham.

Saim Ayub, who has played 8 Tests earlier, has been recalled to the Test setup after featuring last in the longest format nearly a year and a half ago. The swashbuckling opener has been called up to bring his attacking approach from white-ball cricket to Test cricket.

Meanwhile, Azan Awais is expected to regain his spot in the Pakistan Playing XI vs England for 3rd Test, especially after his fighting knock of 46 runs in the first innings at Lord’s.

In the given scenerio, there is a virtual face-off between Abdullah Shafique and Shan Masood for a spot in the PAK Playing XI vs ENG for 3rd Test. Shafique played a brilliant half-century in the first Test, which is why he is expected to retain his spot over the former Test captain.

There was a lot of talk around Babar Azam's return before the ENG vs PAK 2nd Test, but he could register scores of 8 & 10 across two innings. After all the drama that has unfolded in Pakistan cricket, their captain will need to lead by example in the final Test at Edgbaston.

Saud Shakeel missed the chance of getting his name on the Lord's honour board by a whisker. The left-handed batter has looked like the best Pakistan batter on this tour. Thus, he has to be in the Pakistan Playing XI vs England for 3rd Test.

After Mohammad Rizwan’s return back home, Ghazi Ghori becomes the automatic choice to make his Test debut. He has been with the Test team since the Bangladesh tour, and he will certainly play his first Test at Edgbaston.

Arafat Minhas, the spinning all-rounder, enjoys great backing from the interim head coach Mike Hesson. Thus, he could walk straight into the PAK Playing XI vs ENG and make his Test debut.

Mohammad Abbas has been the best player for Pakistan on this tour. Although he has been facing a lot of criticism for pace, the right-arm fast bowler is coming into this match with a five-wicket haul in the ENG vs PAK 2nd Test.

Mohammad Ali, who has played both matches on this UK tour, is expected to assist Abbas in the Pakistan Playing XI vs England for 3rd Test. Along with them, Razaullah and Ubaid Shah are to be included and handed their maiden Test caps. Notably, Razaullah has impressed the team management, especially Mike Hesson, with his pace and bounce.
